Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for switching between parallel networks. One of the methods includes maintaining a plurality of parallel networks including a first network that precludes access to secure resources, and a second network that provides access both to unsecured resources and secured resources, enabling a user device access to connect to the first network, receiving input from the user device seeking access to one or more secured resources, in response to the received input, installing a device management profile on the user device, and causing the user device to switch from the connection to the first network to a connection to the second network.

Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a source media content processing device located at a customer premises 1) detects a user request to flick a media content instance from the source device to a destination media content processing device located at the customer premises and communicatively connected to the source device by way of a local area network (“LAN”), 2) in response to the detecting, hosts the media content instance at a resource address for access by way of the LAN and transmits the resource address to the destination device by way of the LAN, 3) receives, from the destination device by way of the LAN, a request to access the media content instance at the resource address, 4) and streams, to the destination device by way of the LAN in response to the request, data representative of the media content instance. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: A user interface can include an outage reporting section which has the option of adding of an outage by requesting outage information from the user and receiving the outage information from the user. An existing outage can also be viewed by providing the user with a search field for selecting an existing outage. The user interface can be configured to display information regarding the selected existing outage. The outage information from the user can be stored in a centralized database for viewing at a later time. A series of questions regarding the outage can presented to the user at a user interface, and the series of questions may include at least one drop-down menu with predetermined answers.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for configuring a data flow between a source device and a destination device in a network. The mechanisms receive, from a network control application, a request to establish a network configuration corresponding to a data flow between the source device and the destination device. The request comprises a fine grained header field tuple for defining the data flow. The mechanisms allocate, from a shadow address pool, a shadow address to be mapped to the fine grained header field tuple. The shadow address pool comprises addresses not being used by devices coupled to the network. The mechanisms configure a network infrastructure of the network to route data packets of the data flow from the source device to the destination device based on the shadow address.

Abstract: A content transmission terminal, a service providing device, a communication system, a method of communicating and a computer-readable recording device for recording a program that more reliably detect a communication partner, and suppress an influence on communication performed by another device connected to a specific network are provided. A response request message for requesting a response from a service providing device is transmitted from the first communication unit through first communication via a first network including an access point and wireless second communication via a second network without the first network. When a response message is received in both of the first and second communication units from the service providing device that provides a desired service, content is wirelessly transmitted from the second communication unit to the service providing device.

An example method includes accessing a first set of cookies and a set of user identifiers, the cookies and user identifiers corresponding to devices accessing media via the Internet, identifying a pattern in the first set of cookies, obtaining impression information from a database proprietor, the impression information comprising a second set of cookies, identifying a subset of the second set of cookies that are associated with a same person based on the pattern, and associating impressions corresponding to the identified subset with the same person.

Abstract: A flow deflection capability is provided for deflecting data flows within a Software Defined Network (SDN) in order to provide security for the SDN. A flow forwarding rule is generated for a first network element of the SDN based on detection of a condition (e.g., TCAM utilization condition, CPU utilization condition, or the like) associated with the first network element. The flow forwarding rule is generated by a control element of the SDN or the first network element of the SDN. The flow forwarding rule is indicative that at least a portion of new flow requests received at the first network element are to be forwarded from the first network element to a second network element of the SDN. The flow forwarding rule may specify full flow deflection or selective flow deflection.

Abstract: A coordinated adaptive streaming system provides a level of intelligence between adaptive streaming heuristics applied to multiple multi-bitrate streams playing on a client computer at the same time. The system receives a media event that includes multiple multi-bitrate streams and plays two or more of the streams. Each stream registers with the coordinated adaptive streaming system so that the system is aware of each of the streams. The system receives a priority indication from each stream that indicates the priority of the stream relative to other streams associated with the media event. The system uses the received priority indications to make adaptive streaming decisions. Thus, the coordinated adaptive streaming system provides playback that more closely aligns with a user's priorities and provides a higher quality experience to a user viewing multiple concurrent media streams.

Abstract: A method is provided for a presenter device to screen share a remote desktop on a remote server with participant devices in a wireless network including the presenter device and the participant devices. The presenter device connects to the remote desktop through the wireless network. The presenter device receives screen data of the remote desktop and multicasts the screen data to a multicast group through the wireless network. The presenter device transmits a multicast address to the participant devices through the wireless network. The participant devices use the multicast address to receive the screen data through the wireless network.

When the user PC sends desired reservation information to the server reservation control center via the Internet, if the reservation is accepted, a reservation ID only used for authentication of the reservation is created and sent from the server reservation control center to the user PC via the Internet. When a distribution request is sent from the user to the streaming server, authentication processing using this reservation ID is performed.

Abstract: Techniques for establishing a screen sharing session are described. Consistent with some embodiments, a web conferencing application executing at a mobile computing device enables a user to specify the identity of a remote computer. The identity of the remote computer is communicated to a web conferencing service, directing the server operating the web conferencing service to establish a remote desktop connection with the remote computer. Once established, the web conferencing service receives from the remote computer a stream of information representing a user interface of the remote computer, and then broadcasts the user interface to all computing devices participating in the web conferencing session, while enabling the mobile computing device to manipulate the user interface of the remote computer.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing imaging of multiple computing devices are provided. A device image manager determines a number of device images which may be loaded by the computing devices. The device image manager transmits a set of device images to the computing devices, which then store the device images. When provisioning of one or more of the computing devices is desired, the device image manager selects a device image or receives selection of a device image. The device image manager then sends a provisioning command device to the appropriate computing devices identifying the selected device image. If the computing devices have stored the selected device image, the computing devices may load the selected device image without requiring retransmission of the device image.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to collect, analyze and report social media aggregated from a plurality of social media websites. Social media is retrieved from social media websites, analyzed for sentiment, and categorized by topic and user demographics. The data is then archived in a data warehouse and various interfaces are provided to query and generate reports on the archived data. In some embodiments, the system further recognizes alert conditions and sends alerts to interested users. In some embodiments, the system further recognizes situations where users can be influenced to view a company or its products in a more favorable light, and automatically posts responsive social media to one or more social media websites.

Abstract: A cross-platform multimedia interaction system with dynamically-configured hierarchical servers is disclosed, including: a central relay server (CRS); multiple electronic devices; and multiple displays respectively arranged in the multiple electronic devices. The CRS dynamically assigns one of the multiple electronic devices as a local relay server (LRS) and instructs the LRS to active a websocket server, and the CRS notifies the other electronic devices of a network address of the LRS. When the LRS actives the websocket server, other electronic devices establish one or more network sockets with the LRS. The multiple electronic devices communicate control parameters via the websocket server, generate corresponding images according to received control parameters, and respectively display the resulting images on the multiple displays.

Abstract: The embodiments may provide a data processing apparatus for controlling service resource allocation. The data processing apparatus including a resource hints controller configured to obtain a resource control request before a task is to be executed on a virtual machine having resources allocated to a processing unit, a memory unit and a storage unit. The resource hints controller is configured to obtain a usage of the resources allocated to at least one of the processing unit, the memory unit and the storage unit of the virtual machine, and increase the resources allocated to the at least one of the processing unit, the memory unit and the storage unit in response to the resource control request based on the usage being equal to or above a threshold level.
