  • Patent number: 9028177
Abstract: A roughing end mill comprises an end mill body and plural inserts which are placed on an outer circumference of the end mill body with a predetermined distance apart from each other in the axial direction of the end mill body, wherein the plural inserts form plural insert rows which are provided in a circumferential direction of the end mill body, where the inserts are offset in the axial direction from each other between the different insert rows which are adjacent in the circumferential direction. The inserts have waveform cutting edges which face towards an outer circumferential side of the end mill body. One insert of one insert row and an insert of another insert row are positioned such that the waveform cutting edges of each of these inserts make up a waveform cutting edge row whose phase is continuous on a rotation trajectory around the axis.

  • Patent number: 8973479
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for cutting food comprising a rack and a knife rest set on the rack and further comprising: a nipper for gripping food. A slideway is designed on the rack, provided with a slide rail and a guide rail that match each other between the slideway and the bottom of the nipper. The nipper for gripping food of the food cutter avoids sliding along the slideway with hands directly holding food to effectively prevent hands from being scratched by the knife rest and provide safer and more labor-saving use. Moreover, the slide rail and the guide rail that match each other between the slideway and the bottom of the nipper prevent the nipper from deviating when sliding along the slideway for more labor-saving use. This invention further discloses that it is a food cutter that can cut food into more shapes.

  • Patent number: 8918999
Abstract: An aerodynamic trimmer head assembly for use in flexible line rotary trimmers including a trimmer head having a curvilinear upper head surface and a shroud having a curvilinear portion extending over the head surface. A plurality of ribs extend downwardly and forwardly in the direction of rotation between the head surface and shroud defining a plurality of channels extending between portions of the upper head surface and shroud along curvilinear paths defined by the ribs. The channels define inlet openings in an upper portion of the shroud and outlet openings about the lower end portion thereof. During rotation of the head and shroud, air is drawn downwardly about the drive mechanism, through the channel inlets, into and through the channels and outwardly therefrom at a forward inclination about the line projecting from the housing thereby cooling the drive mechanism of the rotary trimmer and reducing aerodynamic drag on the line.

  • Patent number: 8915172
Abstract: The invention herein named “Magnetized Fence with Stock Feeder for Decked Saws” is in total manifestation a table saw fence or other saw fence magnetized for resistance to lifting, in combination with a stock feeder or powerful spring-loaded workpiece guide mounted directly on said fence. Thus the stock feeder, which advances workpieces over the cutting element of a saw, can be used without its mounting apparatus interfering with lateral travel of the fence. Said invention is comprised of a: 1) saw fence, which guides workpieces, 2) motorized feeder with mounting apparatus, or spring-loaded guide, and 3) mechanisms incorporated for switching the magnetic element.

  • Patent number: 8910388
Abstract: An aerodynamic trimmer head for use in flexible line rotary trimmers having a plurality of aerodynamic elements defined by the upper and lower head surfaces that during rotation of the head, draw air downwardly about the trimmer drive mechanism onto the upper head surface and move the air outwardly from the head into the plane of the extended cutting line and at forward inclination in the direction of rotation. The downwardly moving air cools the trimmer drive mechanism and the outwardly and forwardly moving air reduces the drag on the head and the extended cutting line. The aerodynamic elements preferably include a plurality of troughs extending downwardly and forwardly along the upper head surface, a perimeter surface for deflecting air moved by the troughs into a generally horizontally extended zone of moving air about the extended cutting line and a plurality of dimples formed in a lower surface of the head.

  • Patent number: 8905685
Abstract: This roughing insert is provided with an insert body, and a waveform cutting edge which is formed on an intersecting ridge line portion between a rake face and a flank face of the insert body, and which undulates along this intersecting ridge line portion. The waveform cutting edges are formed on the insert body respectively at positions which are rotationally symmetrical at predetermined angular intervals around a reference line of the insert bodies. These waveform cutting edges which are positioned rotationally symmetrically to each other are formed such that, when the insert bodies are rotated by the predetermined angle around the reference line, one or more portions of the waveform cutting edges do not match each other and are mutually asymmetrical.

  • Patent number: 8732957
Abstract: A knife has a housing, an operating part shiftable on the housing between advanced and retracted positions, and a blade holder connected to the part and carrying a blade. The holder is shiftable on the part between offset first and second cutting positions with the blade projecting from the front end and a safety position with the blade recessed in the housing rearward of the front end. A spring biases the holder into the safety position. A brace element can shift between a position braced between the blade holder and the housing in the first cutting position and a position out of engagement with the blade holder or the housing in the second cutting position. The brace element when engaged holds the blade in the first cutting position but in the second cutting position is disengaged so the spring returns the holder to the safety position.
