  • Patent number: 7995985
Abstract: Reducing power consumption and interference in wireless communication is provided. For example, in one embodiment, a method is provided that listens for radio frequency (“RF”) activity on a receiver utilizing a first receiver antenna. When no RF activity is detected the receiver is switched “on” and a command is transmitted. If a reply to the transmission is not received the receiver is turned “off.” After an expiration of time, the receiver is again switched “on” and another command is transmitted on a second antenna coupled to the receiver. Thereafter, if a reply is not received the receiver is again turned “off.” Embodiments of the invention also include other methods, computer-readable mediums, apparatuses, and systems that contain features similar to the features in the above described method.

  • Patent number: 7991424
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for dynamically generating one or more group lists as a sub-group of the contact list by assigning tags to contacts in a contact list. A user may define one or more tags for contacts in the contact list to generate a tag list in addition to the contact list. The tags indicate additional attributes of the contact that cannot be included in the contact list. To dynamically generate the group list, the user enters list criteria, and the tag list is searched to identify which of the contacts in the contact list has tags that match the list criteria. The contacts having tags that match the list criteria are combined into a group list which the user may then access to initiate communication with those contacts, or store for later use.

  • Patent number: 7983648
Abstract: The present invention provides a low intermediate frequency receiver for receiving radio frequency signal and provides the sampling method thereof. The low intermediate frequency receiver firstly samples the radio frequency signal so as to convert it into digital signal of non-zero frequency domain. Secondly it compensates the digital signal of non-zero frequency domain to filter out the interfering signal therein. Finally, the compensated digital signal is frequency-shifted to the zero frequency domain. By using the low intermediate frequency receiver and the sampling method thereof according to the present invention, the interference at the zero frequency, like DC drift and intermodulation component, could be easily filtered out without imposing any great influence on the useful signals.
