  • Patent number: 11808468
Abstract: System and method for monitoring and detecting potential problems early in a VCC based HVAC&R system employs a monitoring application or agent that uses continuous machine learning and a temperature map to derive or “learn” a relation between a measured input power parameter of one or more system compressors, and condenser and evaporator intake fluid temperatures, based on observations of the temperatures and the input power parameter when the HVAC&R system is new or in a “newly maintained” condition. The monitoring agent can then use the learned relation to determine, based on subsequent observations of the condenser and evaporator intake fluid temperatures, the input power parameter values that should be expected if the HVAC&R system were operating in the “newly maintained” condition. The agent can thereafter compare the expected compressor input power parameter values with observed input power parameter values to determine early whether the system is experiencing performance degradation.

  • Patent number: 11782466
Abstract: To dynamically manage a temperature of an electronic device, a local temperature is provided by measuring a temperature of a local spot in the electronic device and a reference temperature is provided by measuring a temperature of a reference spot in the electronic device where the reference spot and the local spot are thermally coupled. A target temperature corresponding to a limit value of the reference temperature is adjusted based on the local temperature and a power level of the electronic device is controlled based on the same target temperature. The target temperature may be set to a relatively high value to secure performance of the electronic device when the local temperature is relatively low. Alternatively, the target temperature may be set to a relatively low value to pursue stability of the electronic device when the local temperature is relatively high.

  • Patent number: 11709536
Abstract: A multi-die semiconductor package includes a first integrated circuit (IC) die having a first intrinsic performance level and a second IC die having a second intrinsic performance level different from the first intrinsic performance level. A power management controller distributes, based on a determined die performance differential between the first IC die and the second IC die, a level of power allocated to the semiconductor chip package between the first IC die and the second IC die. In this manner, the first IC die receives and operates at a first level of power resulting in performance exceeding its intrinsic performance level. The second IC die receives and operates at a second level of power resulting in performance below its intrinsic performance level, thereby reducing performance differentials between the IC dies.
