The indication also may serve as communication, such as a PIN input, so that calibration is transparent to the viewer. The method may be continuous, intermittent, or otherwise ongoing over time.

The weighting factor maps a pixel range of the depth map value to an output function having higher values for closer image objects and lower values for farther image objects.
