Abstract: Ion-exchangeable glasses having high hardness and high elastic modulus. The base cover glass formulation includes Na2O, Y2O3, Al2O3, and SiO2. The glasses may further include P2O5, B2O3, and any of the alkali, alkaline earth, and rare earth oxides, as well as other divalent metal oxides. The ion-exchangeable glasses offer higher hardness, which provides more resistance to micro-ductile scratching damage. Ion-exchange of these glasses increases their resistance to cracking caused by frictive damage and increases retained strength following formation of surface damage.

Abstract: A coupon for replacing a cutout in a hot gas path component of a turbomachine is provided. In one embodiment, the coupon includes a body having an outer surface; and a plurality of grinding depth indicators in the outer surface of the body. Abstract: Provided is a shield in which a flexible member is interposed between two metal plates; still unfilled spaces that are not filled with the flexible member are secured, so that the shielding properties are improved by air layers. The shield 1A includes two metal plates 2, 3 disposed to face each other, and a plate-shaped flexible member 4 interposed between the two metal plates. Each of the two metal plates 2, 3 has a plurality of protrusion-depression structures. Gap-forming means is provided to form gaps of a width greater than the thickness of the flexible member 4 between the two metal plates 2, 3 when the flexible member 4 is interposed therebetween. Unfilled spaces (5) that are not filled with the flexible member 4 are provided between the two metal plates 2, 3.
Abstract: High performance polyethylene (HPPE) members include at least 5 wt-% of a radiopaque component. The HPPE members are biocompatible and the radiopaque component is a particulate at least partially arranged inside a HPPE filament of the HPPE members. The radiopaque component may have a particle size of at most 1 ?m, preferably at most 0.5 ?m. Methods of making the HPPE members and various medical devices and repair products which include the HPPE members are also provided.

Abstract: Optical adhesives that also diffuse visible light include a blend of an adhesive matrix which is an optical adhesive and a block copolymer. The adhesive may be a pressure sensitive adhesive and contains either acid or basic functionality. The block copolymer, which may be a diblock copolymer, contains a high Tg block and a functional block, the functionality of the functional block is complimentary to the functionality of the adhesive matrix to form an acid-base interaction. The adhesive may also contain a crosslinking agent.

Abstract: Examples of optically clear fluid compositions are disclosed herein. In one example, the optically clear fluid composition includes an aqueous vehicle, an anionic polymeric binder dispersed in the aqueous vehicle, and wax particles incorporated in the aqueous vehicle. The anionic polymeric binder has a glass transition temperature (Tg) that is higher than 40 C, and a pH ranging from about 7 to about 11. The wax particles have a particle size ranging from about 25 nm to about 75 nm, and a melting temperature (Tm) ranging from about 100 C to about 150° C. The optically clear fluid composition has a viscosity ranging from about 0.5 centipoise to about 90 centipoise.
