  • Patent number: 9134831
Abstract: An input apparatus for, in response to a user's sliding operation on an operation surface, inputting a coordinate point in the operation surface to move a pointing image to a target button image is disclosed. The apparatus acquires the coordinate point in the operation surface and sets, as a characteristic line, a tendency of trace of the coordinate point in the user's sliding operation directed to a lateral direction or a longitudinal direction of the operation surface. The apparatus corrects the coordinate point with reference to the set characteristic line so that the trace of the coordinate point is corrected to be a horizontal line or a vertical line. The apparatus outputs the corrected coordinate point for moving the pointing image.

  • Patent number: 9123258
Abstract: An interface apparatus (1600A) comprises a surface (1642) touchable by a finger (120). The surface has a touch-sensitive area with a predetermined position (1646), to which a function is assigned. The finger's presence at the predetermined position (1646) is detected. An electrosensory stimulus is generated to the finger by applying an alternating electrical drive to one or more electrodes (1662). Each electrode is provided with an insulator, which prevents DC flow from the electrode to the finger and a capacitive coupling over the insulator is formed between the electrode (1662) and the finger (120). The capacitive coupling and electrical drive are dimensioned to produce an electrosensory sensation, independently of mechanical vibration of the electrode. The electrosensory stimulus is varied temporally based on the detected presence or absence of the of the finger (120) near the at least one touch-sensitive area having the predetermined position (1646).

  • Patent number: 9035892
Abstract: A portable terminal operates while switching first mode for generating, based on a value indicating a degree of contact output by a touchpad, a value indicating degree of the contact for each contacted area and second mode for generating, based on the output value, a value by performing adjustment such that temporal change amount of the value indicating the degree is equal to or less than a predetermined value. When a value of one contacted area generated in the second mode equals or exceeds the first threshold, the portable terminal switches to the first mode, and when a value of one contacted area generated in the first mode falls below the second threshold, the portable terminal switches to the second mode. The portable terminal determines, as a target area to which processing to be performed is allocated, one contacted area having a value that equals or exceeds the first threshold.

  • Patent number: 9024886
Abstract: Provided is a touch-panel device capable of detecting a touched position with high accuracy even when a touched area extends off an electrode area. In one embodiment, the touched area is assumed to be, for example, circular in shape. A width in an X direction (overlap width) and a width in a Y direction (overlap width) of an overlap area where the touched area in a circular shape and an electrode area overlap each other is determined based on sensor measured values. When the overlap width and the overlap width are different from each other, it is judged that the touched area extends off the electrode area, and a position of a center of the touched area in the circular shape is calculated as the touched position.

  • Patent number: 8922604
Abstract: An image display device (2) controls a backlight luminance on the basis of a plurality of areas corresponding to LEDs, which are defined by dividing an input image. To cause sides of each subscreen to coincide with sides of its corresponding area, a subscreen control section (10) included in the image display device (2) changes positions and sizes of subscreen input images Dv1 to Dv3 included in a multiscreen input image Dv, the positions and the sizes being determined by subscreen setting data Ds, which is setting information. As a result, the number of areas corresponding to each subscreen is reduced, so that the number of LEDs to be lit up is reduced without causing display failures, thereby achieving low power consumption.
