Abstract: Provided are methods of providing a virtual service that may provide partial real time service to clients of a production computing service that is unavailable. Methods may include generating, based on transaction data corresponding to a production computing service that is available, a production computing service model that includes multiple request types and multiple confidence values that correspond to ones of the request types. Methods may include responding to a request received from a client of the production computing service with a model-generated response to the request in response to the production computing service being unavailable. The production computing service is updated with the request received from the client and the model-generated response responsive to the production computing service being available after being unavailable.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for giving prompt, detailed ratings feedback (e.g., as a purchase is being made or a user is shopping or dining with a merchant) that can be subjected to a controlled delay in sending the actual feedback to merchants. “Merchant” is used in a general sense to include both providers of goods and providers of services, such as dining (e.g., restaurants, coffee shops), car maintenance, carpet cleaning, home remodeling, and plumbing, for example). The feedback may be provided from a consumer mobile device. Embodiments may provide information useable in real time (e.g., as the user is considering the ratings to be given) from the merchant back to the consumer for improving the ratings feedback or that the consumer can use, for example, for making purchasing decisions.

Abstract: A payment service is configured to support purchase transactions generated by merchant point-of-sale (POS) devices. As transactions are conducted, the payment service evaluates, for each transaction, the risk of subsequent chargeback. The payment service then notifies the merchant that expedited payment is available for transactions having low risks of chargeback. The merchant can select a user interface element to initiate expedited payment of the transactions via a debit card linked to the merchant's bank account. Other transactions are settled in a non-expedited manner, using a batch funds transfer.

The method includes initiating an application program configured on the mobile wireless device without any user input required to start tracking a drive. The method includes moving the mobile wireless device from the start point through one or more legs. The method includes using algorithms or traffic data to identify one or more of the legs as a route or drive.

Abstract: A method and system for reconciling data, the method comprising receiving account data including records of holdings, transactions and cash balances of an manager and a custodian. The account data is matched based on a set of rules for matching custodian and manager data. A holding matching process, transaction matching process, and cash matching process are provided to identify matches and exceptions in the records of the holdings, transactions and cash balances from the account data, which may be displayed to an end-user. The method further comprises receiving a request to investigate the exceptions in the records and providing at least one of cash, holding, and transaction investigations of the exceptions in the records.

Abstract: An inventory management system processes late transactions. The system takes snapshots of stock counts recorded in an accounting system and receives a transaction record after taking the snapshots. The system then determine whether there is an open stock count corresponding to the transaction record and whether the snapshots include a snapshot of the open stock count. When the open stock count and the snapshot exist, the system writes the transaction record to a staging table. Then, upon proceeding from a first phase to a second phase of a plurality of stock count phases, the system updates the snapshot based on the staging table. The stock count phases include a count phase, a recount phase, and an authorize phase.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing content are disclosed. In one aspect, a set of interaction data specifying one or more types of user interactions with a resource is received for a user. A determination is made, based on the interaction data, that the user is in a first engagement category from at least two different engagement categories. A request for a content item to be provided to the user is received. A content item having a bid specifying an amount that a content item provider is willing to pay for distribution of the content item to a user in the first engagement category is identified. A determination is made, based on the outcome of an auction performed using the bid, that the bid is a winning bid. The content item is provided for presentation in response to the request.

Abstract: A software reconciliation engine utilizes a software rule-based catalog to produce accurate license reconciliation across a wide range of software configurations. A software offering may comprise software installables and corresponding constraints. Installed software and active hardware is discovered by a scanner, stored in an installed software database and active hardware database respectively and is mapped against entitled software offerings to determine whether the installed software is entitled to be installed on the hardware. The installed software has a base product attribute, a used-in-count attribute and a parent-child attribute that are used by the reconciliation engine to compare against the constraints to determine entitlement and report compliance.

Abstract: A system and method for distribution of product price and/or sales data in a retail establishment. Product price and/or sales data is stored locally in a central computer or master electronic cash register (ECR), or remotely at a master computer. The price data can be pushed from the master ECR to an ECR emulation hub. Similarly, the ECR emulation hub can request product price data from the master ECR, local or master computers. Once the product price data arrives at the ECR emulation hub, it can be processed and sent to a display located near the appropriate product. The ECR emulation hub can also record and/or transmit prices actually charged for products over time to allow for automatic auditing of promotional pricing offers. The ECR emulation hub acts like an ECR, thereby requiring no special software or hardware modifications to existing pricing display systems that already support ECRs.

Abstract: A communication device generates a wireless carrier signal and communicates by modulating the wireless carrier signal. A measurement circuit of the communication device measures an inductively coupled signal that is based on the transmitted wireless carrier signal and a measurement value is calculated for that signal. The measurement value is used to select a modulation procedure that is used by the communication device to encode data to be transmitted. The communication device generates and transmits a wireless data signal based on the data to be transmitted, the selected modulation procedure, and the carrier signal.

The document processing system is configured to process the at least one document in stages that are performed by at least two different applications operated by at least two separate hardware systems.
