    Abstract: A carbon capture system includes two carbon capture plates. A first carbon capture plate collects carbon dioxide from a flow of ambient air. A second carbon capture plate releases carbon dioxide upon application of heat from a heat exchanger. The heat is exhaust heat from a data center. The first carbon capture plate and the second carbon capture plate are rotatable between the capture and release positions. The carbon capture system uses the waste heat from a data center to collect and store atmospheric carbon dioxide, thereby reducing the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

The ester stream thereby obtained is then fractionated and a fraction including esters of unsaturated C18 fatty acids is subjected to metathesis conditions in the presence of an alkene to obtain metathesis products. Fractionation of the metathesis products includes recovery of at least renewable 1-decene, and unsaturated C10-C15 fatty acid esters.

Thiols and optionally thiophene and carbon disulfide are absorbed in a dedicated absorption stage with methanol as physical absorption medium. Methanol laden with at least thiols is freed of thiols in a stripping stage with methanol vapours as stripping gas and the methanol vapours-containing thiols are freed of methanol in a scrubbing stage. The process according to the invention minimizes methanol losses and the amounts of coolant required for the process.

    Abstract: A method for operating an acetylene hydrogenation unit in an integrated steam cracking-fluidized catalytic dehydrogenation (FCDh) system may include separating a cracked gas from a steam cracking system and an FCDh effluent from an FCDh system into a hydrogenation feed and an acetylene-depleted stream, the hydrogenation feed comprising at least hydrogen, CO, and acetylene. During normal operating conditions, at least 20% of the CO in the hydrogenation feed is from the cracked gas. The method may include contacting the hydrogenation feed with an acetylene hydrogenation catalyst to hydrogenate at least a portion of the acetylene in the hydrogenation feed to produce a hydrogenated effluent. The steam cracking is operated under conditions that increase CO production such that a concentration of CO in the cracked gas is great enough that when a flowrate of the FCDh effluent is zero, a CO concentration in the hydrogenation feed is at least 100 ppmv.

    Abstract: Processes for making phenol and xylenes from a phenols-containing feed are described. The processes involve transalkylation of alkylphenols to form phenol and alkylbenzenes. The phenol is separated from the alkylbenzenes, and the alkylbenzenes may be separated into benzene, toluene, xylenes, and heavy alkylbenzene streams. The benzene stream may be recycled to the transalkylation reaction zone. The toluene may be sent to a disproportionation reaction zone, and the product is sent back to the aromatic separation zone. The toluene can also be recycled to the transalkylation zone. The xylenes are separated into a p-xylene stream and a mixed xylene stream comprising m-xylene and o-xylene. The mixed xylene stream is isomerized and the isomerized product is sent back to the aromatic separation zone. The heavy alkylbenzenes are dealkylated and separated, with the aromatic stream being recycled to the aromatic separation zone.
