  • Patent number: 10791306
Abstract: The control unit of a projector drives modulators for the range of brightness of the image data with a first resolution of NN levels, wherein NN is an integer greater than one. The control unit applies a predefined brightness change to the brightness value in accordance with the image data for the image point such that a changed brightness value having a second resolution, which is greater than the first resolution, is calculated, and converts the changed brightness value into the increased brightness value such that it has the first resolution and is greater than a notional comparison value having the first resolution that arises if the predefined brightness change is applied to the brightness value in accordance with the image data, with the result that the control unit drives one of the modulators for a pixel to be boosted with the increased brightness value having the first resolution.

  • Patent number: 10789688
Abstract: There is provided a method, a device (104), and a system (100) for enhancing changes in an image (103a) of an image sequence (103) captured by a thermal camera (102). An image (103a) which is part of the image sequence (103) is received (S02) and pixels (408) in the image that have changed in relation to another image (103b) in the sequence are identified (S04). Based on the intensity values of the identified pixels, a function (212, 212a, 212b, 212c, 212d, 212e) which is used to redistribute intensity values of changed as well as non-changed pixels in the image is determined (S06). The function has a maximum (601) for a first intensity value (602) in a range (514) of the intensity values of the identified pixels, and decays with increasing distance from the first intensity value.

  • Patent number: 10791309
Abstract: Transmission of HDR image data is satisfactorily performed between apparatuses. A transmission apparatus (synchronized apparatus) transmits the HDR image data to a reception apparatus (source apparatus) over a transmission path. At that time, the transmission apparatus transmits information on a transmission method for and/or information on gamma correction for the HDR image data to the reception apparatus over the transmission path. The reception apparatus performs processing (decoding processing, gamma correction processing, and the like) on the received HDR image data, based on the information on the transmission method and/or the information on the gamma correction that are received. For example, the transmission apparatus receives from the reception apparatus the pieces of information on the transmission method and/or the gamma correction that the reception apparatus can support, selects the method that the reception apparatus can support, and thus uses the selected method.

  • Patent number: 10791252
Abstract: An image monitoring device includes a luminance calculator and a darkness determiner. The luminance calculator calculates a first average luminance value of an illuminated region which is illuminated with a lamp and a second average luminance value of a non-illuminated region which is not illuminated with the lamp. The illuminated region and the non-illuminated region are included in a video signal generated by capturing with a lens. The darkness determiner determines whether or not the video signal is captured in dark by comparing a difference between the first average luminance value and the second average luminance value with a first threshold value.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to an image processing method, an image processing method, and a program for easily correcting a defocus blur. A defocus blur conversion section sets an appropriate amount of defocus blur by referencing a database in accordance with current lens conditions of a projector (zoom/shift/focus). A defocus blur correction signal processing section generates, through signal processing, a corrected image in accordance with the defocus blur amount from the defocus blur amount conversion section in such a manner that an input image coincides with an output image. This disclosure can be applied, for example, to an image processing apparatus, an image encoding apparatus, an image decoding apparatus or the like.

  • Patent number: 10764620
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure provide for dynamic delay equalization of related media signals in a media transport system. Methods include receiving a plurality of related media signals, transporting the related media signals along different media paths, calculating uncorrected propagation delays for the media paths, and delaying each of the related media signals by an amount related to the difference between the longest propagation delay (of the uncorrected propagation delays) and the uncorrected propagation delay of the related media signal/media path. Calculating the uncorrected propagation delays and delaying the related media signals may be performed in response to a change to the propagation delay of at least one of the related media signals/media paths. Additionally or alternatively, calculating the uncorrected propagation delays and delaying the related media signals may be performed while transporting the related media signals.

  • Patent number: 10755441
Abstract: A geometric camera calibration system includes an extrinsic iterative closest point (ICP) device that generates an estimated extrinsic matrix by adjusting an initial extrinsic matrix according to first 3D points in camera coordinates; and an intrinsic ICP device that receives 3D points in chessboard coordinates and accordingly generates an error metric between the 3D points in chessboard coordinates and predetermined second reference 3D points. The extrinsic ICP device performs ICP operation to minimize difference between the 3D points in camera coordinates and predetermined first reference 3D points. A current intrinsic matrix is then outputted as an updated intrinsic matrix if a current error metric is not greater than a previous error metric.

  • Patent number: 10701352
Abstract: An image monitoring device includes a maximum value and minimum value calculator, a small-luminance-difference determiner, a small-luminance-difference-block counter, and a dirt adherence determiner. The maximum value and minimum value calculator calculates, for each of a plurality of blocks set in one frame of a video signal obtained through a lens, a maximum luminance value and a minimum luminance value of a plurality of pixels forming each of the plurality of blocks. The small-luminance-difference determiner determines whether or not each of the blocks has a small luminance difference, by comparing a difference between the maximum luminance value and the minimum luminance value with a first threshold. The small-luminance-difference-block counter counts a number of blocks having the small luminance difference in the one frame. The dirt adherence determiner determines whether or not dirt is adherent to the lens, based on the number of blocks having the small luminance difference.
