  • Patent number: 10785142
Abstract: An inter-provider network architecture system is disclosed. In particular, the system may enable a service provider network and a partner network to take advantage of each other's network cores, such that the resources of the service provider network and the partner network may be more effectively utilized to service customers of both networks. By doing so, not only can the service provider network and the partner network take advantage of each other's network resources, but they can also give each other's customers broader network reach into regions that are not typically serviced by their own networks. The service provider network may effectively accomplish this by providing a limited view of the service provider network to the partner network, or vice versa, so that traffic and data can flow between the networks without each network having to be fully aware of each other's entire network topologies.

  • Patent number: 10785297
Abstract: Migrating and delivering datasets to mobile Internet of Things (IoT) devices is provided. A time is predicted for delivery of one or more datasets to a target intermediate data delivery destination closest to a current geographic location of a mobile IoT device based on context and type of each detected data delivery event and the current geographic location of the mobile IoT device. The one or more datasets are migrated to the target intermediate data delivery destination closest to the current geographic location of the mobile IoT device according to the predicted time. The one or more datasets are delivered to the mobile IoT device from the target intermediate data delivery destination closest to the current geographic location of the mobile IoT device based on the context and the type of each detected data delivery event that corresponds to a particular dataset in the one or more datasets.

  • Patent number: 10771337
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for defining a set of permissions, or privileges, for users who manage resources of a network-based service provisioned in a network-based service platform managed by a service provider. The techniques may include mapping cloud identities of the users to operating system (OS) user groups defined local to the resources that specify the set of permissions for user group members. Systems-manager agents that execute locally on the resources may determine to which OS user group the user belongs based on their cloud identity, and launch shells that are restricted by the set of permissions. Using these shells, a network-based service platform may allow users to remotely manage resources of the network-based service in various ways, such as through batch run commands and/or remote user sessions, while ensuring that the users are unable to execute commands on the resources that are outside the set of permissions.

  • Patent number: 10764122
Abstract: A processing device receives event notifications for occurrences of infrastructure events from a different event sources. The event notifications have different formats to represent a same type of infrastructure event. The processing device creates uniform event notifications from a base event format for the event notifications, and provides the uniform event notifications to a centralized event handler that corresponds to the base event format within a threshold amount of time to allow a time sensitive action to be performed by the centralized event handler within a time period.

  • Patent number: 10764365
Abstract: A web application system of an embodiment includes a server and a terminal. The server includes a server-side updating device, a server-side detection device, and a server-side synchronization device. The terminal includes an application execution device. The server-side updating device updates first information stored in a server-side storage device on the basis of a server-side event. The server-side detection device detects that the first information has been updated. The server-side synchronization device notifies the terminal of information indicating that the first information has been updated when it is detected that the first information has been updated. The application execution device functions by a web application being executed. Further, the application execution device starts synchronization of second information stored in a terminal-side storage device with the first information when information indicating that the first information has been updated is received from the server.

  • Patent number: 10757170
Abstract: Conditional address translation is performed in a multi-tenant cloud infrastructure to effectively support tenant-assigned addresses. For each tenant, the multi-tenant cloud infrastructure deploys both a private network used to communicate between the tenant and the cloud and a tenant-facing gateway to manage the private network. The multi-tenant cloud infrastructure also includes an externally-facing gateway used to communicate between the multi-tenant cloud and a public network. The tenant-facing gateways are configured to bypass address translation—providing consistent addressing across each private network irrespective of the physical location of resources linked by the private network. By contrast, the public-facing gateway is configured to translate source addresses in outgoing packets to addresses that are unique within the public network.

  • Patent number: 10749921
Abstract: In various embodiments, a node manager configures a “new” node as a replacement for an “unavailable” node that was previously included in a distributed data store. First, the node manager identifies a source node that stores client data that was also stored in the unavailable node. Subsequently, the node manager configures the new node to operate as a slave of the source node and streams the client data from the source node to the new node. Finally, the node manager configures the new node to operate as one of multiple masters nodes in the distributed data store. Advantageously, by configuring the node to implement a hybrid of a master-slave replication scheme and a master-master replication scheme, the node manager enables the distributed data store to process client requests without interruption while automatically restoring the previous level of redundancy provided by the distributed data store.

  • Patent number: 10741091
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for mitigating the effects of intermittent network connectivity in educational settings. A student assignment is presented via a client-side user interface of an educational platform. The client-side user interface is initially operated in a read/write mode. Student input is received via the client-side user interface in connection with the student assignment, and is responsively locally stored. A remote-save-triggering event is detected, and a remote-save method is responsively executed. The remote-save method attempts to save the locally stored student input to a remote server. If the remote-save method returns a remote-save-success promise, the client-side user interface is continued to be operated in the read/write mode. If the remote-save method returns a remote-save-failure promise, the client-side user interface is transitioned to being operated in a read-only mode.

  • Patent number: 10735507
Abstract: A method of facilitating peer-to-peer connection involves transmitting, by a first peer device, an identification of the first peer device and information regarding its capabilities. The information regarding its capabilities including a list of transmission channels that the first peer device is capable of supporting, an indication of which transmission channels the first peer device is capable of supporting as a group owner, and/or an indication of which transmission channels the first peer device is capable of supporting as a client. The first peer device receives from a second peer device, an identification of the second peer device and information regarding its capabilities including a list of transmission channels that the second peer device is capable of supporting. The first peer device and the second peer device then negotiate which of the first and second peer devices should be the group owner and which should be the client.
