Abstract: Techniques for providing a common object model for storage systems that facilitates the performance of data mobility use cases. In the techniques, a plurality of storage system objects for a plurality of storage systems, respectively, are instantiated from a common object model, in which the respective storage system objects have unique identifiers. Further, one or more storage system objects involved in one or more data mobility use cases are determined from among the plurality of storage system objects using the unique identifiers. The determined storage system objects include capabilities of at least some of the plurality of storage systems. Based on the capabilities included in the determined storage system objects, operations of the data mobility use cases are initiated at a system level via a single user interface, thereby providing uniform management of data mobility sessions that increases the efficiency of storage administrators.

Abstract: A mobile universal device operator (MUDO) operates at least one device and includes a seamless interaction manager and an appliance manager. The seamless interaction manager transmits a resource discovery requests to a gateway over a local network and to a cloud server over an external network. The gateway stores a local resource directory listing at least one resource of each device and the cloud server stores an associated cloud resource directory. The manager receives responses from the resource directories, selects a local command path or a cloud command path and associates the selected command path with each discovered resource. The appliance manager transfers instructions received from a user about a selected resource to the seamless interaction manager. The interaction manager translates the instructions into a unified command to the selected discovered resource via its associated command path.

Abstract: A remote server monitors a network of computing devices through hierarchical composite indicators by obtaining telemetry data from a computing device in a network of computing devices. The telemetry data includes performance attributes of the computing device. The server generates a composite indicator associated with the computing device based on a combination of at least two performance attributes of the computing device. The server monitors the composite indicator and, responsive to a determination that the composite indicator meets an alert threshold, generates an alert associated with the computing device. Additionally, the server can monitor the health of the network of computing devices based on composite indicators from multiple computing devices in the network.

Abstract: Flow-based isolation can be provided in a service network that is implemented over a software-defined network, and particularly in a dynamic open-access network environment. End user premises devices can be configured with one or more service network isolation flows that apply to communications within the service network. Such service network isolation flows can define rules for dropping any outgoing communication that is destined for an IP address within the service network. Such service network isolation flows can also define rules for dropping any incoming communication that originated from an IP address within the service network.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems, apparatus, and methods of using usage data to determine the dependency structures of a web application, including dependency structures between follow-on objects of an initial object in a web transaction. In one embodiment, an input URL and associated dynamic response data are analyzed for such nested or dependent relationships. In further embodiments, analysis of these relationships are used to improve prefetching operations to lower overall page load times.

Abstract: Information technology environment monitoring systems, for example, perform analytics over machine data received from networked entities. Outputs of such a system may be useful to help a user identify a problem and resolve an incident. Inventive aspects enable user interactions to trigger automatic connection with network servers to establish communication channels for conveying analytics and other information related to the problem between and among network nodes participating in the resolution of the problem or incident.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a first network device in a first site sets a first IP address for an interface of the first network device to a value of a second IP address of a second network device in a second site. Policies are added in a policy table to cover IP addresses used in the second site and a specific route for a third IP address associated with a first workload migrated from the second site to the first site is added into a routing table. The first workload is on a stretched network that is coupled via a layer 2 channel. The policy table configures the first network device to send a second packet from the first workload to a third workload in the second site via the layer 2 channel when an IP address for the third workload does not match an eligible route in the routing table.

Abstract: Improved methods for retrieval of content from CDNs is provided that includes a rendezvous controller that receives information of an identification of content being requested and an estimated location of a content requesting device. Based on this information, the rendezvous system identifies a server within a CDN from which the requested content may be retrieved. The selected server may be based on a repeatable hash function such that the likelihood that the content being requested is cached at the selected server. Steering requests to a server of the CDN which may have the content cached may reduce the number of servers within the CDN with the same cached content, particularly for the highest requested content. The rendezvous system may then return a corresponding domain name associated with the selected server and that can be subsequently submitted to a DNS for resolution to the IP address of the identified server.

Abstract: A system and method for load balancing using a rendezvous hashing load balancer. The method includes generating a lookup table, the lookup table having cells that define a row and a column, wherein each of the row of the lookup table corresponds to an index, and each of the column corresponding to an identifier of a resource of a plurality of resources towards which the load balancer provides access, generating, for each of the cells, a first hash result based on an index of the each of the cells, and a corresponding resource identifier, each of the corresponding resource identifier associated with a unique resource of the plurality of resources, sorting the column of the lookup table for each of the row, based on the first hash result, and storing the sorted lookup table in a memory of the load balancer.

The method includes: detecting access counts of user data sets in a cloud storage resource pool, where the user data sets in the cloud storage resource pool are data obtained by encoding with an erasure coding algorithm of a first security level; determining a first user data set whose access count in the cloud storage resource pool meets a preset condition; obtaining a second security level according to attribute information of the cloud storage resource pool, wherein the attribute information includes the first security level and an increment for security step; and re-encoding the first user data set with an erasure coding algorithm of the second security level to obtain re-encoded first user data sets.

Abstract: Operational machine components of an information technology (IT) or other microprocessor- or microcontroller-permeated environment generate disparate forms of machine data. Network connections are established between these components and processors of an automatic data intake and query system (DIQS). The DIQS conducts network transactions on a periodic and/or continuous basis with the machine components to receive the disparate data and ingest certain of the data as measurement entries of a DIQS metrics datastore that is searchable for DIQS query processing. The DIQS may receive search queries to process against the received and ingested data via an exposed network interface. In one example embodiment, a query building component conducts a user interface using a network attached client device. The query building component may elicit search criteria via the user interface using a natural language interface, construct a proper query therefrom, and present new information based on results returned from the DIQS.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing includes acquiring a plurality of candidate network functions of a network service defined by network functions required by the network service and links between the network functions. The plurality of candidate network functions includes at least one candidate network function for each required network function, and includes a plurality of candidate network functions for at least one required network function. Links between the candidate network functions are tested, and a link performance metric for each tested link is determined. A candidate network service for end-to-end performance estimation is built from candidate network functions having interfaces for which the link performance metrics indicate performance above a threshold. An end-to-end performance metric for the candidate network service is estimated based on the link performance metrics. The candidate network service is output to a production environment based on the estimated performance metric.
