Abstract: Systems and methods for managing tabs are provided. Such systems and methods may monitor and identify tabs based on tab usage. A method for web page tab management may include determining if tabs have not been used beyond a tab use threshold. The method may also include removing tabs determined to not have been used beyond the tab use threshold. The method may further include storing information of the removed tabs that will enable the removed tabs to be restored in the web browser. A system for web page management may include a tab use determiner and a tab assassin. The system may also include a stored tab repository.

Abstract: One or more computers are programmed to obtain an identifier of a natural language (“session language”). Additionally, the one or more computers are programmed to create and store in a computer memory, a webpage to be displayed to the user, including at least a title of a piece of content. In addition, the one or more computers automatically use the language identifier to select from among multiple tags that are expressed in multiple languages, a set of tags in the session language. One or more tags in the selected set are then stored in the web page in the computer memory, if the selected set is non-zero. If the number of tags in the selected set is zero (i.e. there exist no tags in the session language), in some embodiments a message is included in the webpage, indicating that there are no tags available.

Abstract: An image data taking unit takes image data of an object and stores the image data therein as an image data file. A display unit displays the image data stored in the image data taking unit. A mode-switching unit switches between a close-up mode and a distant-view mode of the image data taking unit. The close-up mode is for the object with a close distance and the distant-view mode is for the object with a long distance. A display control unit, when the close-up mode is on, displays a close-up mode icon on the display unit, and when the distant-view mode is on, displays a distant-mode icon on the display unit. The display control unit, when the mode-switching unit switches the distant-view mode on, replaces the close-up icon displayed on a predetermined position on the display unit by the distant-mode icon on the predetermined position.

Abstract: A jigsaw puzzle and associated web site which provides an entertaining and novel way to give a gift and relay information to select individuals. The puzzle has a code, in addition to the puzzle picture itself, which is displayed when completed. This code gives the puzzle solver access to a web page previously created by the sender of the puzzle. The web page can contain any type of information and data including pictures, videos, music, web links, or items for purchase, for example.

Abstract: A system and method identifies different versions of the same document in a document collection. The system and method creates multiple candidate identifiers for each document based on information associated with the document, and processes the candidate identifiers according to language specific rules. The system and method compares the processed candidate identifiers for similarity, and identifies different versions of documents based on the similarity.

Abstract: A system renders presentation pages such as in a wireless communications system. A server includes an extensible stylesheet transformation (XSLT) module. A storage medium contains at least one of images and text. The XSLT module is operative for calling an XSL extension and rendering the at least one of images and text into a presentation page based on a language requirement at a foreign locale.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a remote control device. Via the present remote control device, a remote computing device can operate a plurality of computing devices and further administrate the whole system constituted by the plurality of computing devices and a KVM switch via a network. The remote control device and the method used therein firstly generates a menu in response to a request from the remote computing device, and the menu has at least one option for a remote control action. The menu is then transmitted to the remote computing device via the network. Once a cursor position representing a chosen option is received from the remote computing device via the network, the cursor position corresponds to the option. The remote control action is carried out according to the cursor position.

Abstract: A user interface manager, interposed between a Windows service and user interface modules that communicate with the Windows service in distinct system status scenarios, can record interaction between the Windows service and each of the user interface modules. The recorded interaction, along with information collected from the user interface modules, can be used in conjunction so that user interaction with a first one of the user interface modules may continue with a second one of the user interface modules after a switch from one system status (e.g., logged on) to another system status (e.g., locked). Alternatively, responsive to the switch from one system status to another system status the user interface manager may simply stop the executing user interface module so that the interaction may be started over in the new system status.

Abstract: In a personal computer, a personal digital assistant or any other information processing device that includes a display screen and a digitizer tablet, thereby accepting handwritten input from a user, a method for simultaneously performing multiple handwritten searches. From handwritten input provided by the user, the method automatically determines that multiple search commands have been given by the user, detects multiple search items specified by the user and simultaneously performs the searches. For each of the multiple search items, the method may assign a weight to each of the multiple search commands based upon the size and position of the corresponding search command. The method also permits the user to delete one or more of the search commands from the simultaneous performance of the multiple searches.

Abstract: The present invention enables a focus to be moved easily among focus items in different frames when frames are displayed. To do so, the last focused item in an in-frame document once activated is stored (S11) and, when a frame movement event is caused by a focus movement operation (S12, Yes), the focus is moved to a focus item stored for a new frame (S13). If the stored focus item is not in the display area of the frame, the focus is moved preferably to a predetermined (for example, the first) focus item in the display area. Operation means for the focus movement operation may be used with frame switching means for switching the active frame among frames.

Using this presentation canvas, additional meeting objects may be established by the presenters or even created and staged by a presenter to be dragged onto the meeting canvas for use during the active meeting. The meeting participants who are not presenters may not view or interact with this presentation canvas or any of the objects located thereon.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for implementing a dynamic form using file data retrieved from an external file source. An application executing on a server computer is responsive to a form request received from a user system computer to transform the retrieved file data into a format that includes new input elements. Unique namespaces are assigned to each of the new input elements, and the requested form and transformed file data are transmitted to the user system. The application is configured to create new XML file data that is mapped to the original XML file data in response to a user of the user system inputting data into the form. The new XML file data is compared to the original XML file data to identify missing elements. Missing elements are inserted into the new XML file data, and the new XML file data is stored in a memory.

Abstract: A planning monitor and control system is provided for use with an enterprise computing system. The system generates a user interface planning visual display that includes a list view area containing a list of planning projects predefined to be included in a list of planning projects of interest to a user. At least one of the listed planning projects includes an electronically linked electronic planning document that is created and maintained in an application software program module of the enterprise computing system that is separate from the planning monitor and control system. Planning information is generated in the linked planning document as part of the listed planning project to which the planning document is associated. The planning visual display also includes a planning project details view area in which non-final content from the linked planning document is displayed for the associated planning project included in the list view.

Abstract: A software control mechanism is disclosed for use with a plurality of media applications. The software control mechanism comprises a media control panel structured for use with a plurality of media applications. The media control panel is independent of each media application. Each media application is displayed within a computer screen. The software control mechanism is structured to control a function of a presently interfaced media application on the display screen. Further, as the presently interfaced media application changes on the display screen, the media control panel for that media application is displayed along a same boundary of the computer screen.

Abstract: A video analysis system for analyzing video of a swing motion including an imaging unit that records video of the swing motion, an impact detection unit, a video display unit, a control unit, and a personal computer. The control unit activates functions, remotely from the personal computer, and performs functions, including receiving the video of the swing motion, receiving an impact detection signal, recording the video of the swing motion, determining an impact time based on the impact detection signal and recording images of the swing motion for a predetermined time period that includes the impact with the ball, displaying the video of the swing motion on the video display unit, slowing down replay speed of the video of the swing motion to be lower than an actual speed of the recorded swing, temporarily stopping the video, and switching video replay between a forward mode and a backward mode.

Abstract: A facility is described for providing shared telepointers and for enabling hosts and participants to highlight portions of documents or applications using the shared telepointers. In various embodiments, the facility establishes a sharing session wherein an application executing on a host computing device is shared with a participant computing device, receives at the host computing device an indication from a participant computing device to identify a region to users in the sharing session, draws the identified region on a display device associated with the host computing device, and causes the identified region to be drawn on a display device associated with the participant computing device. In various embodiments, the region is a spot region or a highlighted region that is drawn in a color associated with a user of the participant computing device.
