Abstract: A device for removing lice and nits from affected hair and scalp of an individual, has first and second movable blades, the first blade including a plurality of first saw teeth, the second blade including a plurality of second saw teeth, and means for movably retaining the first and second blades parallel and adjacent to one another with their respective first and second teeth in opposition and parallel planes along their respective longitudinal axes, whereby the blades can be selectively moved toward one another to cause their teeth to mesh together with hairs captively held therebetween, the first and second teeth being configured to thereafter provide via combing a scraping action against the entrapped hairs for removing lice and nits therefrom.

Abstract: A telescoping comb for lice removal is provided for removing head lice and nits from a person's hair. The comb has a telescoping handle with serrated teeth and a pivoting handle. Resilient springs are utilized for holding the pivoting handle in an open position and holding a head portion of the telescoping handle in a closed position in the resting state. Pressure applied to the pivoting handle actuates the head portion to an open position, and upon subsequent release thereof, the head portion is spring biased back to the closed position. When the invention is used on one's hair, the teeth of the comb separate any lice from the hair where they can be safely removed.

Abstract: The hairclip (1) has two legs (4, 5) and a hinge (6) with a spring (7) connecting the legs. The legs (4, 5) each have a tine base (10, 11) and a number of curved tines (8, 9) arranged in rows on one side of it. Each tine base (10, 11) is adjoined by an actuating section (12, 13) on the opposite side. The two actuating-sections (12, 13) are disposed asymmetrically relative to a length of the tine bases (10, 11) and opposite each other. For the sake of tight spacing and easy manipulation, these hairclips (1) are placed on the curlers (2) in such a way that the actuating leg sections (12, 13) of one hairclip (1) are not disposed in the immediate vicinity of the actuating leg sections (12, 13) of an adjacent hairclip (1).

Abstract: A dye applicator including a head with a cavity (reservoir) and a plurality of bristles in the form of pins each covered with a sponge sleeve extending into the cavity and moistened with a catalyzed dye in the cavity by capillary action. A handle is connected to the head and includes a first container for receiving a dye compound, a second container for receiving a catalyst compound, a pump for each container, and a mixing chamber with a threaded compartment connected to the head cavity on one end, connected to the first container on the other end, and connected to the second container by a manifold for distributing the catalyst throughout the threaded compartment of the mixing chamber. A solenoid is positioned to actuate both pumps to deliver the dye and the catalyst separately to the mixing chamber and to deliver the mixed catalyzed dye to the head cavity.

Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, an electric oral cleaning device is provided and includes a handle and a power supply contained therein. The device has a motor that drives a motor linkage, which includes a push rod that has one end that engages and moves a dental cleaning head about a center pin to cause an oscillation motion of the head. The entire head assembly is also interchangeable such that a flossing tool and various brushing tools may be utilized by the same device.

Abstract: A unit for applying at least one product comprises a container defining a longitudinal axis curved over at least a portion of its length so that at least a portion of the axis defines at least one curve. The container comprises an interior and an opening. The unit further comprises a cap configured to seal the opening, a flexible stem, and an applicator member at an end of the flexible stem. The applicator member is removably arranged in the interior of the container and is accessible via the opening.

Abstract: A hair curling iron/straightener includes a handle; a first elongated member connected with the handle and having a first flat straightening surface; a heating element for heating the first elongated member; a second elongated member pivotally connected relative to the first elongated member and including a second flat straightening surface for mating with the first flat straightening surface to straighten hair placed therebetween, and a curved surface; a second heating element for heating the second elongated member; a curved elongated member pivotally connected relative to the second elongated member for engaging with the curved surface thereof; a first lever for actuating the curved elongated member to pivot the curved elongated member away from the second elongated member; and a second lever for actuating the second elongated member to pivot the second elongated member and the curved elongated member together away from the first elongated member.

Abstract: This invention relates to a portable nail polish remover. The prior nail polish remover has some problems in that, since the remover solution accommodating bottle and the swabs have to be keep individually, the keeping and management for them is troublesome. The remover of the invention comprises a remover body 10 having an opening at an upper end thereof; a non-woven fabric 40 accommodated within the remover body with wound to be exposed through the opening of the remover body; a remover solution receptacle 20 built in the remover body so that a outlet of the remover solution receptacle is directed to the opening of the remover body, the remover solution receptacle providing the non-woven fabric with the remover solution; and a head 30 engaged with the opening of the remover body to open and close the remover body, the head providing the non-woven fabric with the remover solution. Thus, since a user has a nail polish removed with the remover erected, the user may use and treat it simply.

Abstract: A container with a metering apparatus and a process for metering liquid from the container where the metering apparatus includes an upper chamber and a coaxial lower metering chamber. Inverting the container dispenses liquid in the metering chamber and simultaneously introduces liquid from the container into the upper chamber. When the container is returned to an upright position, a portion of the liquid in the upper chamber flows to and fills the metering chamber; however, a surplus portion of the liquid remains in the upper chamber even when the container is again inverted. The surplus portion of the liquid never returns to the container.

Abstract: Unless the nail exposure window of the finger protection sheath is strictly adjusted, the enamel-coated nail portion only is not brought into contact with the spongy member, and the enamel is not reliably and selectively wiped off without hurting the skin. Further, the finger protection sheath does not easily turn unless a large moment of turn is given thereto. The lower rotary shaft of the finger protector sheath of nearly a hollow cylindrical shape is deflected from the finger axis or the center line of the cone in a manner that they meet at ?, enabling the outer diameter portion of the enamel-coated nail surface to be turned like a fan maintaining a radius R(=r+?r) larger than the radius r of the prior art as viewed on a plan view to increase the moment of turn. The nail exposure portion is provided with an automatic cover to thereby also contrive an installation-type device for removing enamel from a multiplicity of nails and a device for removing enamel from the pedicured nails.

Abstract: A pocket carried dental floss dispensing and cleaning device is provided to permit a user to open the device for use and close the device to secure the tool in a sanitary environment. A spool of dental floss is contained within a pivoting floss support arm removeably mounted a storage compartment. A knob is used to open the device and secure a line of floss during use.

Abstract: A hand held nail polish removal tool includes a housing having a main body connected by an elongated neck to a head. An abrasive member is removably attached to the head and the tool contains a vibrator for causing the abrasive member to vibrate so that when the abrasive member is positioned against a finger or toe nail, the abrasive member will abrade away any polish on the nail. The polish removal process may be accelerated by applying a solvent to the abrasive member. This may be done by dipping that member in a solvent or by incorporating a solvent dispensing system in the housing which allows a solvent to be delivered via the head to the member's abrasive surface. Preferably, the tool is powered by rechargeable battery in the housing. Various different abrasive cover members for attachment to the head are also disclosed.

Abstract: A retractable bristle brush of the type for retracting the bristles into the brush is provided. The retractable bristle brush includes a handle adapted for grasping by a user and an elongated, cylindrical inner mandrel extending from the handle; a plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the inner mandrel; a cylindrical external mandrel is slidably mounted on the inner mandrel, the external mandrel forming a bristle orifice through a top surface thereof in connection with a bristle cavity formed by the external mandrel wherein each associated orifice and bristle cavity disposes at least one bristle; and a mechanism for controlling bristle extension in connection between the external mandrel and the internal mandrel limiting longitudinal movement of the external mandrel between an open position wherein the bristles extend through the orifice and a closed position wherein the bristles are retracted to a position within the bristle cavity proximate the top surface of the external mandrel.

Abstract: A dye applicator that has an elongated container that doubles as a handle and a comb assembly with an internal longitudinal cavity along its spine. The container is removably connected to the comb assembly to permit the dye to pass through the cavity and to the longitudinal and transversal opening in each tooth. The dye goes out to the user's hair through opening terminations on each of the transversal conduits. The container assembly is deformable to squeeze out the dye and a one-way valve is used to permit the air to replace the dye that is released.

The device has a main body which has a chamber for containing a floss spool and a female stem to receive a tube of toothpaste, a floss spool disposed within the chamber, a threaded male stem, a spool chamber cover, a floss passage block which has two openings of different sizes, and a cut-off tang.

Abstract: A main body of a container for a prepared article is comprised of a housing, an inner frame member, an operative member and an operating knob. The inner frame member is provided with a guiding projection at its lower part, and the operative member is provided with a holder for the prepared article at one end thereof. The operative member is inserted into the inner frame member, is drawn out at the bottom of the inner frame member with the holder left inside the inner frame member, and is folded in U-shaped along the guiding projection. In this state, the operative member is inserted together with the inner frame member into the housing through an opening at the leading end of the housing. The operative member is assembled into the housing in this way. The operating knob is mounted on the operative member via a slit from the outside of the housing.

Abstract: The present invention contemplates to adapt the shape and movement of a popular manual flosser into an automatic flosser to minimize the learning time required for manipulating automatic dental flossing. The present invention also contemplates to combine the automatic flosser with a popular automatic toothbrush and thus to make the automatic flosser available to the users with substantially no additional cost to the automatic toothbrush. The present invention further contemplates to accomplish circular oscillation of the toothbrush bristles of the automatic toothbrush and side-to-side vibration of the dental floss of the automatic flosser.

Abstract: A brush includes a handgrip defining a retaining recess, a cap disposed frontwardly of the handgrip and defining an insertion recess, and a felt-mounting member extending between the cap and the handgrip, and having a rear end section received in the retaining recess of the handgrip. A felt sheet is disposed on the felt-mounting member, and has a front end snugly inserted into the insertion recess of the cap, and a rear end section received in the retaining recess in the handgrip. A clamp unit includes upper and lower clamping members that releasably clamp the rear end sections of the felt sheet and the felt-mounting member therebetween.
