Abstract: A method and apparatus for a service platform capable of providing device-based task completion is disclosed. A request for a task is received at a service platform from a customer. A worker device to complete the task is selected from a group of worker devices registered with the service platform based on a current attribute of the worker device. Data resulting from completion of the task is received from the selected worker device, validated, and presented to the customer. A reward or incentive can be provided to the worker device in response to the data being received from the worker device and validated.

Abstract: A real-time activity monitor (RTAM) operates within or in association with a machine (such as a desktop) within a back office environment to automatically track and record desktop processing activities, application usage, as well as manual processing. The real-time activity monitor provides visibility into real-time task processing at the client desktop to enable an enterprise to address back office operational inefficiencies that are exposed by the data. According to a further feature, a recording approach is used to enable a user of the system to automatically define processes and tasks to be monitored. The approach obviates manual configuration by recording application usage actions and then using these interactions as a template for a new process object to be monitored. In an alternative embodiment, the process recorder captures screenshots and enables screen element bookmarking.

The executing of the deterministic optimization process and the executing of the stochastic simulation process are iterated based on updated scaling parameter from the stochastic simulation process and the cash refill amount determined by the deterministic optimization process at current iteration until a termination threshold is met.

Abstract: Creating a work item in a work item tracking system from action item data in a productivity application document is provided. A work item extraction system receives a selection to create a work item from a string of data in the document, parses the string for work item attributes, and maps the work item attributes to fields in a work item creation form in a work item tracking system for creation of a task item. Further, a link to the created work item is generated and inserted into the document, which provides direct access the work item in the work item tracking system. The work item extraction system communicates with the work item tracking system for a status of the work item, and updates the document to indicate the status of the work item.

The coordinates of each first and second data point denote a time of occurrence of the failure of the first and second computer system and a severity of the failure of the first and second computer system, respectively. A third Tchebychev polynomial curve passing through the peaks of the first and second Tchebychev polynomial curves is generated. A highest peak of the third Tchebychev polynomial curve is identified and determined to be a high risk failure that occurred on the first or second computer system and generates significant risk to the computer network, causing other computers to add redundancy to minimize the significant risk to the computer network from a future occurrence of the high risk failure.
