  • Patent number: 6905223
Abstract: A portable, battery-operated flashlight having improved pivoting, switching and focusing features is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, the flashlight takes the form of an attachment to a head gear for hands free use. In another aspect of the invention, the flashlight takes the form of a head lamp held in place on an user's head by an elastic band. The pivot connection between the body and the base, as well as the serrations on an exterior surface of the body, allows a user to adjust any angular direction of the light as desired. In another aspect of the invention, the flashlight takes the form of a long-handled flashlight having improved switching and focusing capabilities, such that axial movement of the switching assembly turns the flashlight “on” or “off”, as well as causing a position of the lamp to vary in order to focus or defocus the light.

  • Patent number: 6902304
Abstract: The present invention discloses a stopper composed of a hyaline port, a coupling, a light emitting means, a buffer ring, an embedding port and an insertion. The light emitting means is positioned in a top hollow of the coupling and then embedded into a cave of the hyaline port. An insulated ring surrounding batteries is housed in the lower hollow of the coupling. The coupling can be eventually screwed in the embedding port deposited in the insertion. By screwing the coupling more tightly, a lead beneath the light emitting means can contact with the battery to form electrical conduction, and therefore the hyaline port exhibits fancy or identification effect.

  • Patent number: 6902310
Abstract: A compact illumination system using a light source such as an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) or laser diodes (LDs) having a long life span, and a projection display device employing the illumination system are provided. The illumination system includes a light source; a collimating lens array for making light emitted form the light source be parallel; an optical path conversion unit for reflecting the light incident in parallel from the collimating lens array back toward the light source to initially converge the light; and a secondary focusing lens disposed at a side where the light source is positioned, for converging the light, that has been reflected and converged through the optical path conversion unit, on a predetermined position. The illumination system reflected the light emitted from the light source back toward the light source through the optical path conversion unit so that the volumes of the illumination system can be greatly reduced to be compact.

  • Patent number: 6886962
Abstract: In a shielded reflective LED, each of light sources can be surface-mounted substantially without being influenced by heat distortion based on the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between resin and metal because the light source is so small-sized that only one light-emitting element is sealed with a resin. Moreover, variations in luminous intensity and chromaticity of each of light-emitting elements used in three-color light sources can be examined in advance. Hence, well-matched three-color light sources can be mounted in combination so that display unevenness of a full color display can be reduced greatly. Further, the surface of the substrate portion on which the light source is fixed is silk-screen-printed in black. Hence, external light which enters the device through the optical opening portion when the device is turned off is reflected by the reflecting mirror and absorbed to the surface of the substrate portion.
