  • Patent number: 10859334
Abstract: Systems for universally locking a trigger of a firearm are provided that require authentication to transition the firearm to an unlocked state. In general, examples of the systems for universally locking a trigger of a firearm described herein are located in an interchangeable grip portion of the firearm or mounted to an accessory rail of the firearm. Embodiments of the system generally include trigger interference or blocking members to prevent actuation of the trigger until the authentication system has authorized the user to fire the firearm. Once the system is authenticated, embodiments of the system remain in an unlocked state while the user is grasping the firearm. When the user removes their hand from the firearm, embodiments of the trigger locking system automatically returns to a locked state, reducing or eliminating unauthorized use of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 10857580
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing gun barrels having a grooved or ribbed inner surface with straight or helical grooves or ribs, by providing a metallic hollow cylindrical pre-form, placing the pre-form on a core mandrel being part of a flow forming machine having a main machine axis, the core mandrel having a structured outer surface comprising ribs and/or grooves extending straightly parallel to and/or helically around the main axis; and applying forming rollers, in a roller arrangement, to the outside surface of the pre-form so as to apply radial pressure on the pre-form such that its material begins to flow. As the rollers apply force upon the pre-form, a relative motion between the pre-form and the rollers is performed by moving the pre-form in axially parallel to the main axis through the roller arrangement or by moving the roller arrangement alongside the pre-form.

  • Patent number: 10852084
Abstract: An advanced gas piston operating system for Armalite Rifle (AR) and Armalite Rifle variants. The advanced gas piston system may include a barrel having a gas port formed through the barrel wall, a gas block assembly, a gas piston assembly, and upper receiver assembly, a sending block, rack and gear assembly, and a bolt carrier assembly with an attached rack. In such a system, a portion of the combustion gases from a fired projectile travel through a gas port in the barrel into a gas block assembly which drives a piston forward which compresses a main spring on an attached rod. The opposite end of the rod is attached to a sending block rack and gear assembly with the gear rotatably engaged with the teeth of another rack that is attached to the bolt carrier assembly. As the gas piston assembly moves forward, the bolt carrier assembly moves rearward until the main spring is fully compressed. Decompression of the main spring returns bolt carrier assembly forward loading the next round into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 10837736
Abstract: The inventive disclosures pertain to an improved handgun (and related retrofit/after-market kits) that incorporates an improved gunsight and ergonomically enhanced pistol-grip member. In embodiments, an elongated gunsight-augmentation member is adapted to be inserted between a handgun's existing rear and front gunsights such that the gunsight has been basically transformed into a barrel-length U-shaped channel that makes it clear to a user how to line-up a target, while ensuring that the entire length of the device has a smooth shape and edges to significantly reduce snagging when drawing the firearm. The gunsight-augmentation member can also incorporate an internal fiber-optic rod as a visual aid to line-up a firearm. In variations, the improved handgun incorporates an ergonomically enhanced finger-receiving member disposed at the bottom surface of the pistol-grip and/or magazine that is especially useful for compact handgun designs.
