  • Patent number: 7467890
Abstract: A portable disinfectant transfer system for transferring a toxic and/or noxious fluid between a container and a reprocessor reservoir includes a container for containing the fluid, a pump having a conduit for drawing the fluid from the reservoir and expelling the fluid through an opening of the conduit into the container and an opening in the container for receiving a neutralizing chemical into the container simultaneously with the expelling of the fluid from the reservoir into the container to provide a simultaneously introduced neutralizing chemical. The opening of the conduit is positioned to produce a swirling motion of the fluid within the container to mix the simultaneously introduced neutralizing chemical with the fluid while the fluid is expelled into the container. A further pump having a further conduit is provided for drawing the fluid out of the container.

  • Patent number: 7467642
Abstract: A pilot operated pressure valve which limits the rate of pressure rise and substantially eliminates excessive system and tank pressure spikes. Because the pilot ball downstream of the damping orifice is held off the pilot seat in the normal starting condition by a pilot return spring, the main piston will open immediately when system pressure overcomes the low bias pressure of the main spring. A pilot pressure bypass port, which selectively deactivates the pilot chamber features, may also be included.

  • Patent number: 7464722
Abstract: A fluid proportioning valve meters flow of pressurized inlet fluid in proportion to a pressure drop between the inlet and outlet of the valve. A pressure acutated, return biased poppet valve is actuated by the fluid above threshold fluid pressure to meter fluid to the outlet against spring force. The poppet is annular and has a circular metering edge that controls flow through circumferential orifices in a valve guide. Smooth stable flow is achieved by shearing action of the metering edge over the orifices. Sliding point contact with the poppet valve by non-ferrous convex buttons to eliminate galling and reduce particle contamination within the valve.

  • Patent number: 7458390
Abstract: The present invention relates to a breath controlled air inlet valve for controlling a flow of air supplied to a wearer of a facemask, the valve permitting the flow of air when a wearer breathes in and restricting the flow of air when the wearer breathes out. The valve includes an inlet, an outlet, one or more pivotable shutters, and a shutter articulating mechanism for articulating the one or more shutters between an open state and a closed state. The shutter articulation mechanism actuates in response to the respiration of the wearer. The valve also enables a positive pressure to be maintained within the facemask by permitting an amount of air to flow around the one or more shutters when the one or more shutters are in the closed state.

  • Patent number: 7451781
Abstract: The invention provides valves of the type employing a differential pressure regulator and a characterized valve with a mechanism to enhance control of fluid flow independently of system pressure. The valves of the invention are especially suitable for HVAC applications, and provide operation with improved accuracy over a greater flow range with a reduced risk of hunting. In one preferred aspect, the invention provides improvements by the employment in the differential pressure regulator of a diaphragm with a cup arranged to provide a small leakage, thereby dampening the response of the regulator. In another aspect, a baffle is provided to protect the downstream side of a control disk forming part of the differential pressure regulator.

  • Patent number: 7445021
Abstract: A regulating valve includes an outer housing comprised of a cap joined to a base. The housing is internally subdivided by a barrier wall into a head section and a base section, the latter being further subdivided by a modulating assembly into a fluid chamber and a spring chamber. An inlet and a 90° outlet in the cap communicate with the fluid chamber. Fluid at a variable pressure is admitted into the fluid chamber via the inlet, with the modulating assembly serving to maintain the fluid exiting the fluid chamber via the outlet at a substantially constant pressure.
