  • Patent number: 9950209
Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of stationary exercise machines having reciprocating foot and/or hand members, such as foot pedals that move in a closed loop path. Some embodiments can include reciprocating foot pedals that cause a user's feet to move along a closed loop path that is substantially inclined, such that the foot motion simulates a climbing motion more than a flat walking or running motion. Some embodiments can further include reciprocating handles that are configured to move in coordination with the foot via a linkage to a crank wheel also coupled to the foot pedals. Variable resistance can be provided via a rotating air-resistance based mechanism, via a magnetism based mechanism, and/or via other mechanisms, one or more of which can be rapidly adjustable while the user is using the machine.

  • Patent number: 9937375
Abstract: The invention belongs to the technical field of fitness equipment, in particular to the independent suspension vibration damping mechanism of running platform of a treadmill. It solves the problem that the shock effect of the existing treadmill is poor and so on. It includes the chassis and the runway frame. The front end of mentioned runway frame is suspended on the chassis by means of a suspension structure and when the runway frame is subjected to a downward force and forcing the front end of the runway frame to descend, the suspension structure can assist the front end of the runway frame to rise and reset. The independent suspension vibration damping mechanism of running platform of the treadmill has the advantages: simple structure, good stability, good shock absorption effect, providing shock absorption buffer to multiple locations of the treadmill, long span life, and high mechanical strength.

  • Patent number: 9925407
Abstract: A locking mechanism for a shaft provides secure frictional engagement to the shaft while manually operable to be removed from the shaft. There is a first cylinder allowable to slide freely on the shaft. One or more holes retaining one or more balls allow a projection of the balls into an interior of the first cylinder. A tensioning ring (second cylinder) partially overlaps the first cylinder, retains the balls within the holes, and has at least a portion of the inside diameter increasing in diameter. A biasing mechanism acts against the second cylinder to urge the balls into the first cylinder interior to frictionally engage the shaft. Two release mechanisms movable with the biasing mechanism manually actuated against the bias move the second cylinder to allow the balls to freely move within the holes and the locking mechanism to be slid onto and removed from the shaft.

  • Patent number: 9919182
Abstract: An exercise machine, such as indoor cycle, including a multi-function wheel brake actuator. A braking force is induced on a wheel, such as through eddy currents or frictionally, by finely or coarsely adjusting the brake actuator. The brake actuator may thus include a knob whereby a user may finely adjust the braking force on the wheel and a lever to actuate interval settings whereby the brake actuator provides set positions of braking resistance. The exercise machine may further include a pop-pin assembly with an over-center cam mechanism to clamp members together. The pop-pin assembly also includes a fine adjustment to adjust the clamping force. So, for example, the seat stem may be clamped to the seat tube, or the handlebar stem clamped to the head tube, with a lever actuating the over center mechanism.
