  • Patent number: 9596637
Abstract: In order to facilitate communication between an electronic device and another electronic device, the electronic device determines communication-quality metrics for a first connection in a wireless network based on received information from the other electronic device. Then, the electronic device calculates an overall communication-quality indicator for the first connection based on at least some of the communication-quality metrics. Moreover, the electronic device dynamically adapts the communication with the other electronic device based on the overall communication-quality indicator. For example, the electronic device may establish a second connection in a cellular-telephone network and may use the second connection to communicate with the other electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9588508
Abstract: A call unit transmits a call signal to verify the presence or absence of slave devices, which correspond to motors, to all of the slave devices after a master device is activated. A response reception unit determines the number of the slave devices, based on the number of response signals to the call signals. A communication speed change determination unit determines whether or not a data communication speed between the master device and the slave devices should be changed from a first speed to a second speed different from the first speed during a period from the time when the number of the slave devices is determined to the time when the drive of the motors is stopped, in accordance with a result of comparison of between the number of the slave devices and a predetermined number.

  • Patent number: 9577905
Abstract: Improved debugging capabilities for network packet path tracing. Embodiments trace both the control and data planes. During control plane operations each switch appends its identity to the payload, providing a full trace of the control plan path. Responses containing the forward path payload are provided back at each hop, the responses being routing back by tracing back the forward direction control plane. The data plane is monitored by setting traps along the control plane path, with responses at each hop that indicate a given switch has been used being returned along the control plane path.

  • Patent number: 9577955
Abstract: A data switch for a packet data switch includes switching nodes connected to each other in an interconnecting matrix, providing a multiplicity of data paths between an incoming data or telecom port and an outgoing data or telecom port of the data switch. The interconnecting switching nodes can achieve high capacity data switching by providing a partial switching solution at each node, distributing the switching load. A switching protocol for interconnecting switching nodes allows data packets to be selectively passed from any incoming port on an interconnecting switch node to any interconnecting switching node or outgoing port connected to it. In at least one example, the switching protocol has mechanisms in it to provide for the duplicating of the contents of the data packet and pass them to multiple interconnecting switching nodes or outgoing ports.

  • Patent number: 9537786
Abstract: The present application discloses methods, devices, and systems for information processing based on distributed buses. A server may receive processing request packets from one or more client terminals and enter the processing request packets into a single input information queue. After determining a number of idle information processing threads, the server may use the idle information processing threads to process the selected processing request packets to obtain response data packets. Each information processing thread is configured to use a respective output information queue to store response data packets generated by the information processing thread. The server may then transmit the response data packets within a respective output information queue to a corresponding client terminal. The current method, as well as the devices and systems associated with the method, may be used to facilitate information processing, improve efficiency, and prevent excessive burden and data loss.

  • Patent number: 9510242
Abstract: In one embodiment the modem has a network interface, application interface, processor, and memory. The network interface exchanges radio data with a network. The application (or host) interface exchanges application data with an application (or host) processor. The processor converts a unit of radio data to a corresponding unit of application data. The memory stores each unit of application data received by the modem. The processor is configured to execute a selective discard function to reduce traffic by determining if a newly arrived unit of application data is a duplicate of a stored unit of application. In the case that the newly arrived unit of application data is a duplicate of the stored unit of application data, the processor is further configured to selectively discard the duplicate unit of application data in dependence on whether an acknowledgement of the data has been already recognized by the processor.
