Abstract: A manual slope-adjusting mechanism for an elliptical cross trainer having a front sleeve with side tubes at both sides of the bottom of the front end of the elliptical cross trainer. An upright tube is positioned at the center of the front sleeve. A toothed portion is formed at the top of the upright tube. Moreover, a control lever is attached to a coupling rod disposed within an upright support of the elliptical cross trainer. The other end of the coupling rod enables an up-and-down movement of a locking element such that the locking element can be engaged into or disengaged from the toothed portion of the upright tube. In this way, the supporting angle of the side tubes can be manually adjusted for adjusting the slope of the plank connecting rods.
Abstract: An exercise machine has a frame and an operating linkage. The operating linkage includes any of a number of mechanisms that can adjust a foot trace generated by the linkage. In one configuration, the foot trace can be adjusted between at least a generally vertical trace and a generally horizontal trace.

Abstract: Various exercise apparatus have respective linkage assemblies which are movably mounted on a frame and link rotation of left and right cranks to elliptical movement of left and right foot supporting members. The linkage assemblies include separate linkage arrangements for horizontal and vertical displacement of the foot supporting members, and the linkage assemblies accommodate travel of the foot supporting members to positions laterally adjacent the cranks.
Abstract: An exercise apparatus links rotation of left and right cranks to generally elliptical motion of left and right foot supporting members. Each foot supporting linkage is movably connected between a rocker and a crank in such a manner that the foot supporting member is movable through a range of motion that is not limited to the distance between the points of connection to the crank.

The flexible pulling members installed between the beam and the pedal holders enhance movement resistance to the pedals, for efficiently exercising multiple parts of a user.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a recumbent exercise apparatus that provides elliptical foot exercise with arm exercise. More particularly, the present invention relates to an exercise machine having separately supported pedals for the feet and arm exercise coordinated with the motion of the feet. The pedals articulate to provide lower leg exercise with the heel and toe remaining in contact with the pedal while the pedals move along an adjustable inclined elliptical pedal curve. Arm exercise is adjustable to accommodate different size operators. A separate foot contact is provided to overcome a startup toggle condition.
