  • Patent number: 11935386
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and computer program products for alerting a user of a wearable device to adjust the position of the device are provided. An example method includes receiving environment data from a wearable device sensor connected to the wearable device, wherein the wearable device is mountable on an arm of the user such that the wearable device sensor is directed toward a hand of the user. Additionally, the example method determines a position of the wearable device on the arm of the user relative to a calibrating object based at least in part on the captured environment data. Further, the example method alerts the user to adjust the position of the wearable device in an instance in which the position of the wearable device relative to the calibrating object exceeds a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 11904772
Abstract: The invention discloses a method and system for providing an acoustic sound design for an electrified vehicle Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS). The method minimizes annoyance from sound leaking into a vehicle compartment. Road and other functional vehicle made sounds (tread noise, fans, wind noise etc.) are used to create an alert sound that mimics these existing vehicle sounds and can be potentially masked, interiorly, by those same sounds. The sounds are recorded and thereafter shaped, amplified and broadcast by speaker(s) placed outside the interior cabin, i.e., one in an engine compartment and another at a rear of the vehicle, so that vulnerable road users can hear the approaching hybrid/electric vehicle. The sound meets jurisdictional requirements in accord with specified frequencies and sound levels. The result is an alert sound perceived as non-irritating and pleasant outside the vehicle, and unobtrusive and background inside the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11881902
Abstract: Remote configuration of an industrial or remote telemetry device using sound. Acoustic energy directed from a remote programming device to a remote industrial or telemetry device has tones indicating a request to establish communication. By directing further acoustic energy from the remote programming device to the remote industrial or telemetry device, the remote programming device requests information relating to a current configuration of the remote industrial or telemetry device. The remote industrial or telemetry device processes the tones to identify the request and replies with acoustic energy that has associated tones indicating the information relating to the current configuration of the remote industrial or telemetry device.

  • Patent number: 10969357
Abstract: A method of enhancing judgment of a gas detector contains: dividing a voltage difference between an output signal voltage and an environmental detection voltage of the gas detector into several parts. Each of multiple detecting processes of the gas detector is captured by a microprocessor at the environmental detection voltage for ten times in each microsecond, and a predetermined detection time of each detecting process is 10 seconds. When the environmental detection voltage changes linearly, the predetermined detection time of each detecting process is shorten to 1/10 second/per time. After three successive detection processes change linearly, a warning device is started. Otherwise, the microprocessor compensates the output signal voltage and recovers the predetermined detection time when the environmental detection voltage changes so as to maintain the voltage difference at a certain value.
