  • Patent number: 10604097
Abstract: Systems and approaches for detecting an event, such as a crash involving a motorized and/or non-motorized vehicle, are described. In one approach, a listening component of a mobile computing device is first activated. This listening component may then monitor the sound proximate thereto (e.g., within the vehicle in which the mobile computing device is disposed). Using one or more processors, an audio source may be detected which was generated by an event (such as, for example, a crash involving the vehicle and/or an alerting triggering phrase) and was sensed by the listening component. Using an audio recognition technique, the detected audio source is processed to determine a severity of the event which generated the audio signal. This detection step may include identifying a type and magnitude of the detected audio signal using audio signal identification data. An information signal based on the severity of the event is then transmitted.

  • Patent number: 10600309
Abstract: A system for locating an article having a finding unit attached thereto. The finding unit has a transmitter which transmits a wireless signal continuously. Through a software application in the smartphone the wireless signal is monitored continuously when the smartphone is in range of the transmitter. If a User and his or her smartphone go beyond the range of the transmitter, the smartphone sends a notification to the smartphone's display including a GPS location of the smartphone when the smartphone most recently did not receive the wireless signal. The location provides where the article was lost. A software program is provided by which a User can send a message through the smartphone to one or more contacts for assistance. The finding unit can also have a wireless receiver to receive a wireless signal from the smartphone to activate audio and visual alarms.

  • Patent number: 10586437
Abstract: In some implementations, a system can transmit communications indicating an occurrence of a particular type of safety incident experienced by a user. Registration information that indicates that a plurality of safety devices of different types are to be registered with the user is initially obtained. Sensor data from the plurality of safety devices of different types are obtained. An occurrence of a particular type of safety incident experienced by the user is then selected from among a plurality of types of safety incidents. The selection may be based at least on the obtained sensor data and the obtained registration information. A communication is then provided to another user to indicate the occurrence of the particular type of safety incident experienced by the user in response to selecting the occurrence of the particular type of safety incident.

  • Patent number: 10564027
Abstract: An escape system for a sinking car and an ultrasonic component thereof are illustrated. In the present disclosure, an ultrasonic signal transmitting unit capable of emitting ultrasonic is installed on the car. When the car falls into the water, based upon an acoustic resistance concept which the ultrasonic propagated in air collides and transmits into the water, a difference between a reflection or transmittance rate of the ultrasonic and a corresponding set value can be calculated, or alternatively, a difference between a reflection time deviation or a reflection distance of the ultrasonic and a corresponding set value can be calculated. Therefore, a warning signal indicating that the car falls into the water can be fast sent, and this makes sure that the rescue opportunity which the car falls into the water can be grasped to decrease the damage or death of the user.

  • Patent number: 10486065
Abstract: A system to present the user a 3-D virtual environment as well as non-visual sensory feedback for interactions that user makes with virtual objects in that environment is disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a system comprising a depth camera that captures user position and movement, a three-dimensional (3-D) display device that presents the user a virtual environment in 3-D and a haptic feedback device provides haptic feedback to the user as he interacts with a virtual object in the virtual environment. As the user moves through his physical space, he is captured by the depth camera. Data from that depth camera is parsed to correlate a user position with a position in the virtual environment. Where the user position or movement causes the user to touch the virtual object, that is determined, and corresponding haptic feedback is provided to the user.
