    Abstract: A device is disclosed for setting a golf ball and tee in the ground and then for retrieving the golf ball and tee. The device has a handle end for being held in the hand of a user along with a ball pick-up end which engages a golf ball and tee so that the golf ball and the tee can be placed in the ground and then picked up. The handle end also has a trigger which is used to operate arms located at the pickup end which arms engage the ball and tee wherein a first rod connects the trigger to the arms of the pickup end. The first rod passes through a shaft and connects the trigger to the arms. An adjuster in the handle end operates a second rod which also passes through the shaft which controls a ball cup which is used to set the ball onto the tee which tee is then placed in the ground. Additionally, a stand is provided for insertion into the ground so that the device can be held in an upright position for being easily grasped by a user.

    Abstract: A golf green repair tool having a plurality of spears centered around a plurality of tines. The tines and spears are biased by a spring inside a housing and sleeve. When the cap the housing is pressed by the foot of a greenskeeper or golfer the spring is compressed forcing the tines and spears into the turf. The tines are inserted around the periphery of the ball-mark to aerate and loosen the turf. The spears are inserted into the center of the ball-mark and aerate and pull the bottom of the ball-mark to the level of the surrounding turf. The bottom side of the ground-contacting sleeve pressed down the raised rim of the ball-mark correcting the entire ball-mark to the level of the surrounding turf.

The recess-filling panels overlie the ridges which are hard and whose hardness is counteracted by these preferably perforated panels. This provides a smooth surface against which the inflatable bladder rests. Additional flexure is also provided by perforating one or more of the layers in the outer covering. With particular reference to handball manufacture the interior panels comprise two layers, the outer one of which contains recesses containing shock absorbing gel type material.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sports ball comprises cutting outer panels and inner padding cut-outs from three different sheet materials. The internal padding layer materials have perforations and are geometrically similar in shape, but smaller than the outer panel cut-outs. A layer of heat-reactive adhesive that expands upon heating is applied in the machine-stitched seam areas before the panels are stitched together. The padding layer is glued to the inside-out ball cover before the cover is turned right-side out. A reinforced bladder is inserted into the cover. The remaining seams are stitched shut utilizing one of various different methods, and then the ball is molded in a heat and pressure mold that causes the seams to be welded as well as stitched, due to the expansion of the heat-reactive adhesive to cover the stitching in the seams. Enhanced performance characteristics of the resulting ball arise from the air spring aspects provided by the combined features.
