  • Patent number: 11455373
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system, method, and computer program for real-time and computationally efficient calculation of a recommended value range for a quote variable, such as price, discount, volume, or closing time. The system uses the highest-density interval (HDI) of probability density function (PDF) as a recommended or suggested value range for a quote variable. PDFs for the quote variable are precomputed for groups of related inputs, and each PDF is summarized as an array of discrete points. A dimension reduction technique is applied to the PDF inputs in both the training and real-time (non-training) phases to reduce the number of possible combinations of PDFs. During a quote-creation process, a PDF look-up table enables the system to efficiently identify an applicable PDF from the group of precomputed PDFs based on reduced input values.

  • Patent number: 11443262
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of scheduling jobs for an industrial process includes receiving jobs to be executed on machines within a manufacturing facility. A job schedule is generated based on an optimization function that minimizes total energy cost for all the machines during a time horizon based on a summation of energy cost at each time step between a start time and an end time. The energy cost at each time step is a summation of (a) a first energy cost associated with each machine in sleeping mode during the time step, (b) a second energy cost associated with each machine in stand-by mode during the time step, and (c) a third energy cost associated with each machine in processing mode during the time step. The jobs are executed on the machines based on the job schedule.

  • Patent number: 11416803
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to dynamically managing quality of a sample in a public display space. In an illustrative example, a sample quality profile (SQP) may be generated in response to a sample update signal. The sample update signal may, for example, originate from a physical product display location. The sample update signal may, for example include data from a sensor(s) configured to detect a physical attribute(s) corresponding to the sample. The SQP may, for example, correlate the at least one physical attribute with at least one sample quality metric(s) (SQM). A predetermined minimum quality criterion(s) (MQC) corresponding to the product, sample, and/or showcase may, for example, be retrieved and compared to the SQM. If the SQM does not meet the MQC, then a sample request signal may, for example, be generated. Various embodiments may, for example, advantageously maintain an attractive product sample for display to potential customers.

The MLMAEs are automatically tested for accuracy, and the MLMAE with the highest level of accuracy is promoted as the winner. Students enter information through a user interface to request optimal teachers for a subject area, and this information is run against the winning MLMAE which returns a list of optimal teachers. Also provided are techniques for teachers to enter their availability, techniques for MLMAE creators to seamlessly test prospective new MLMAEs, and techniques for teachers to understand why they are not matches for specific segments of students and to receive associated professional development resources.
