  • Patent number: 10231152
Abstract: The present invention discloses a network handover method, where after UE in an LTE network requests circuit switched fallback CSFB, an MME instructs an eNB to move the UE from the LTE network to a 2G or 3G network, and requests an MSC to hand over the UE from the LTE network to a CS domain of the 2G or 3G network for the CSFB, so that the 2G or 3G network allocates a CS domain resource to the UE. After handing over to the CS domain, the UE may perform a CS domain call. By using embodiments of the present invention, an access delay is reduced when the UE accesses the CS domain of the 2G or 3G network, duration of an entire voice call is shortened, and user experience is improved.

  • Patent number: 10178632
Abstract: The present disclosure relates various embodiments for improving power headroom reporting for UEs being in an enhanced coverage mode. The UE may be configured to always transmit a virtual power headroom report to the eNB, when operating in the enhanced coverage mode. Or, the UE may be configured to always transmit a virtual power headroom report to the eNB, when operating in the enhanced coverage mode and at the same time being power limited. Moreover, the UE may determine a repetition level for transmissions in the uplink and/or may determine a repetition level for transmissions in the downlink. The power headroom report can then be used to transport this information (either one of, or both of, the uplink/downlink repetition levels), by using predefined codepoints in the power headroom report.

  • Patent number: 10178018
Abstract: A method and devices for reducing the delay in end-to-end delivery of network packets may be achieved by having the transmission (TX) side of the device, tag each cell with a unique packet identifier and with a byte offset parameter where the tagging allows the reception (RX) side of the destination device to perform on-the-fly assembly of cells into packets by directly placing them at corresponding host buffer, and the method may be done for multiple packets concurrently, and hence store and forward buffering is not needed in either the source or the destination devices and the lowest possible end-to-end cut-through latency is achieved.

  • Patent number: 10051506
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein describe systems, methods, and processing nodes for traffic management in wireless networks based on performing correlations between radio network attributes and wireless device attributes, and generating updated network parameters based on the correlation. Correlations between radio network attributes and wireless device attributes can yield commonalities or patterns based on a frequency band, a site, or a market. Based on the commonalities or patterns, network parameters such as cell reselection priority, allocation of resources, maximum traffic per frequency band, etc. can be calculated and deployed to various network elements such as control nodes, access nodes, wireless devices, etc. The deployment results in an optimal traffic distribution across each frequency band, such that the available spectrum is utilized efficiently and per-user throughput is maximized for all users of the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 10009878
Abstract: A communication system includes a transmitting communication device (310) and a receiving communication device (320). The transmitting communication device (310) determines a control element, e.g., a control element of a Media Access Control protocol, associated with one of the carriers and provides the control element with an identifier specifying the carrier the control element is associated with. The transmitting communication device (310) sends the control element with the identifier on one of the carriers to the receiving communication device (320). The receiving communication device (320) receives the control element and determines, from the identifier received with the control element, the carrier the control element is associated with. Further, the receiving communication device (320) determines, on the basis of parameters indicated by the control element, a data transmission property of the carrier the control element is associated with.

  • Patent number: 9985716
Abstract: In a wireless multi-hop relay network arranged in a tree topology, the base station and one or more relay stations are associated as a virtual base station (VBS). The base station and each relay station have a unique virtual base station identifier (VBS-ID) associated with the path defined by the base station and the one or more relay stations. A relay station in the branch uses its VBS-ID for communicating with an attached subscriber station (e.g. a mobile station) such that communications between the base station and subscriber station occur via the VBS. Subscriber station data communications are relayed between the base station and the one or more relay stations over the VBS via a tunnel connection. The VBS is auto configurable. Mobility for subscriber stations and 10 relay stations is provided through reconfiguration of VBS's.
