  • Patent number: 12037856
Abstract: This invention provides a Mud Gas Separator design (MGS) which prevents gas from being discharged into the shaker/mud pit rooms. It eliminates the risk of suffocation of the personnel working in these areas and the fire/explosion/environmental risks of the current MGS designs. The Mud Gas Separator design of two MGS/liquid seals (43/76 & 57/77) in series automatically prevents gas being discharged into shaker and mud pit rooms by allowing the DIP tube liquid seal (76) of the first MGS (43) to blow-out safely into a containment chamber (49) with the second liquid seal (77) remaining intact preventing any gas from being discharged into the shaker/mud pit rooms. A sensor system (55) at the top of the outer casing of the dip tube (52) will identify when there is a liquid seal blowout event and isolate the MGS to prevent further gas releases.

  • Patent number: 11951427
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a hollow cylindrical filter for removing efficiently foreign substances from fluids. This is performed by forming complicated passages including an axial direction and a radial direction in the filter. The hollow cylindrical filter is formed by winding a metal wire rod in a spiral and multilayered manner. The metal wire rod includes a recess formed throughout the entire length in a longitudinal direction, or recesses repeated along said longitudinal direction. Some wire rod layers extend in an axial direction of the hollow cylindrical filter while the adjacent wire rod layers extend in an intersecting direction, thereby forming a plurality of communication paths for communicating between the overlapping wire rod layers. Additionally, a space is formed between the recess of one wire rod layer and another adjacent wire rod layer, allowing the plurality of communication paths to communicate with each other.

  • Patent number: 11918948
Abstract: Rotating coalescer crankcase ventilation (CV) systems are described. The described CV systems utilize a pumping pressure created by the porous media of the rotating coalescer to maintain positive recirculation of filtered blowby gases through a potential leak gap between a static housing inlet and a spinning component of the rotating coalescer. In some arrangements, the porous media is fibrous media. The filter media may be pleated or non-pleated. The positive recirculation caused by the pressure balance prevents unfiltered blowby gases from bypassing the media of the rotating coalescer from the upstream side to the downstream side of the filter media through the gap. During operation, the pressure balance between the upstream side and downstream side of the filter media maintains the positive recirculation, which in turn maintains a high filtration efficiency.
