    Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting a missing coalescing element in a CV system are described. In some arrangements, the described systems and methods prevent the assembly and/or re-assembly of the CV system without an appropriate coalescing element positioned within the CV system housing (e.g., during a coalescing element service operation). In some arrangements, the coalescing element depresses a spring-loaded component of a shaft that provides flow of bypass gases to the CV system. If the spring-loaded component is not depressed, significant restriction is introduced to the CV system, and an on-board-diagnostic system may detect high-crankcase pressure through existing crankcase pressure sensors and de-rate the internal combustion engine. In other arrangements, a spring-loaded mechanism within the shaft prevents a housing cover (e.g., a lid to the housing of the CV system) from being repositioned when a coalescing element is not installed within the housing.

The porous film portion lies in a flat plane in the absence of a force being applied to the central portion of the central film portion. A frame holds the outer edge portion of the porous film in such a manner that when a force is applied to the central film portion in a first direction, the central film portion moves in the first direction relative to the flat plane and the outer edge portion moves in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, relative to the flat plane. In this way stresses applied to the porous film during a filtering operation are reduced.

    Abstract: The group of inventions refers to heat exchange machinery. The device includes a tank with an outlet fitting and a steam source, a deaerator column with a cover and water inlet and vapor blowdown fittings located on the same, containing lower and upper deaeration sections. Each section includes pressure and distribution trays forming a jet chamber in the space between them, and random element packing. Deaeration sections are separated by a hydraulic seal formed by the edge of the upper section pressure tray and the projection connected to the deaerator column cover. The water inlet and vapor blowdown fittings are located inside the hydraulic seal projection with openings in it. The lower edges of the openings are located higher than the upper edge of the hydraulic seal by a value exceeding the sum of overflow height of the coolant over the edge and hydraulic resistance of the hydraulic seal channel.
