  • Patent number: 7506814
Abstract: A card reader which makes it possible to read card data from a non-contact IC card, discharge a foreign substance inserted from a card insertion slit, sufficiently ensure the degree of freedom in design, and sufficiently prevent the size of the apparatus main body from becoming large. A coil-shaped circuit pattern is formed on an antenna substrate used as an antenna for radio communication with a non-contact IC card. A part located inside the coil-shaped circuit pattern is cut out to form an opening. Even if the antenna substrate is disposed below the card reader main body, therefore, a foreign substance such as a coin inserted from an insertion slit may be discharged from the opening of the antenna substrate.

  • Patent number: 7500605
Abstract: It is an object to provide a tamper resistant device and a file generation method which can store right value information such as a ticket information, and guarantee validity of the right value information without executing a digital signature processing. An IC card 102 attached to a portable terminal 100 receives, from an application 101, right value information representing a right value and a file generation message instructing generation of a rights-file. The right value information includes file data representing the right value, data size and the like. Upon determining that a file generation message is received, the IC card 102 generates a rights-file including the IC card identification ID and right value information which are previously stored in the IC card 102.

  • Patent number: 7484665
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for reading, while using optical interference, a barcode that extends into the depth of a substrate. The barcode is represented by an area with marks in the substrate that is partially transparent to electromagnetic radiation. The inventive method comprises the steps of irradiating the substrate with short coherence length light from a broad-band light source, dividing the light up into reference light and measuring light, returning the reference light and the measuring light back-scattered or reflected in the marked area to an analytical unit, determining the reflectance or the reflectivity of the substrate for all layer depths in the marked area from the interference of the reference light and the measuring light and interpreting the result as a barcode.

  • Patent number: 7481361
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for identifying unsafe synthetic transactions and modifying parameters for automated playback. Bytecode instrumentation is used to dynamically observe the behavior of application code directly and identify each universal resource locator traversed and parameters passed in a transaction. The bytecode instrumentation may determine, based on the parameters passed, that a parameter in the current transaction is an unsafe parameter, and that the unsafe parameter is associated with a test parameter in a previously overridden transaction. If the unsafe parameter has an associated test parameter, the bytecode instrumentation may dynamically override the unsafe parameter in the current transaction with the test parameter in order to make the transaction safe for synthetic playback.

  • Patent number: 7472822
Abstract: A system and method for adding value to a customer account are provided. An identifier associated with a value is distributed to a customer. The identifier is usable to add the value to an account. A request to add the value to a customer account is received via short message service (SMS). The request comprises the identifier and account identification information associated with the customer account. In some embodiments, the identifier may be entered into the device using text auto-completion software. The request is received from a user communication device as an SMS message. The value associated with the identifier and the customer account associated with the account identification number are identified based on the request. The value is caused to be added to the customer account. A confirmation that the value was added to the customer account is passed to the user communication device.
