    Abstract: Some variations provide a low-adhesion coating comprising a continuous matrix containing a first component, a plurality of inclusions containing a second component, and a solid-state lubricant distributed within the coating, wherein one of the first component or the second component is a low-surface-energy polymer, and the other of the first component or the second component is a hygroscopic material. The solid-state lubricant may be selected from graphite, graphene, molybdenum disulfide, tungsten disulfide, hexagonal boron nitride, or poly(tetrafluoroethylene) or other fluoropolymers. The solid-state lubricant particles may be coated with a metal selected from cadmium, lead, tin, zinc, copper, nickel, or alloys containing one or more of these metals. The solid-state lubricant is typically characterized by an average particle size from about 0.1 ?m to about 500 ?m. The solid-state lubricant is preferably distributed throughout the coating.

No other catalyst was present. The branched and crosslinked particles formed using the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) sequestered metal ion from water at ambient temperature and released the bound metal ion upon heating.

    Abstract: A pre-lubricated stock sheet and a method and system for making the same are described. The pre-lubricated stock is generally in a coil wound form. The stock sheet can have opposing first and second sheet surfaces joined together by opposing side edges and opposing ends. Typically, the first and second sheet surfaces are substantially smooth and planar, wherein the sheet has 3 mg/foot2/side to about 200 mg/foot2/side of a solid lubricant having a melting temperature from about 80 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Moreover, the opposing side edges usually are substantially free of the solid lubricant. In some configurations, the stock sheet is an aluminum stock sheet, more particularly an aluminum can stock sheet. Furthermore, the lubricant can be in some configurations a food grade lubricant, that is qualifies a low volatile organic compound under one or more of municipal, state and federal governing authorities.

The automatic transmission oil composition is prepared by mixing base oil with metallocene polyalphaolefin and a trinuclear molybdenum-based dialkyldithiocarbamate friction modifier at specific mixing ratios, whereby the dynamic friction coefficient can be maintained at an equivalent level and the metal friction coefficient can be reduced, thus improving the power transfer efficiency between transmission metals and fuel economy (an improvement of 1.5% or more), increasing durability, and minimizing energy loss.

The method involves: providing a feedstock containing about 1% to about 100% canola oil; removing water from the feedstock; heating the feedstock to at least about 60° C.; mixing a solution of about 90% to about 100% (v/v) methanol and a strong base with the heated feedstock to produce a mixture containing methyl ester; and allowing the mixture containing methyl ester to rest for at least one hour. The composition of the methanol and strong base solution being calculated based on the free fatty acid content of the feedstock. The methyl ester based formulations produced by the method can be used as ecofriendly penetrating oils, lubricating oils, machining fluid or releasing agents.
