Abstract: Provided is a double crosslinked sodium alginate/polyvinyl alcohol composite nanofiltration membrane, including: a porous polymer support; and a sodium alginate/polyvinyl alcohol blend coating layer formed on the porous polymer support and having a first crosslinking structure formed by complexation with divalent metal ions and a second crosslinking structure formed by acetalization with aldehyde groups. The double crosslinked sodium alginate/polyvinyl alcohol composite nanofiltration membrane disclosed herein not only shows excellent chlorine resistance but also has improved water permeation flux and salt rejection ratio, and thus may be manufactured in the form of a spirally wound type membrane module and applied to a water treatment system in which it may be utilized for an actual nanofiltration separation process.

Abstract: A de-icing lubricant composition is provided, including isopropyl alcohol; and mineral oil. The isopropyl alcohol may be 60-90% of the composition by weight. Abstract: The present invention relates to light color, shelf-stable liquid compositions of overbased calcium carboxylate soaps and a process for their preparation. The inventive soaps are prepared by neutralizing calcium base in a mixture of two different aliphatic carboxylic acids and carbonating the mixture in the presence of a non-polar hydrocarbon solvent and a polar organic solvent as a promoter under controlled temperature conditions. The overbased calcium carboxylate soaps of the invention contain 20%-90% by weight of C7 to C25 saturated carboxylic acids, which are branched on carbon 2, and between 1% and 20% by weight short chain saturated carboxylic acids. These liquid compositions have light colors and excellent heat stability. They can be used as anticorrosion/antirust additives, and paint dryers and stabilizers, in paints, coatings and lubricants, as well as other applications.
Abstract: A composition of an oil-soluble ionic detergent that does not contribute metal ions to the composition, and which comprises a quaternary non-metallic pnictogen cation and an organic anion having at least one hydrocarbyl group of sufficient length to impart oil solubility to the detergent, the detergent having a total base number (TBN) to total acid number (TAN) ratio of at least 2:1 imparts ash-free basicity to a lubricant composition.

The produced membrane is characterized by 96% salt rejection and 48 LM-2H 1 flux with 2000 ppm sodium chloride solution at 250 psi pressure and 95% salt rejection and 46 LM2H 1 flux with 35000 ppm sodium chloride solution at 900 psi pressure. The present invention also relates to complete machine design for PSF ultrafiltration membrane casting and coating for TFC membrane production at commercial level.

Abstract: A filter core and manufacturing method thereof, the manufacturing method has the following steps: adhering a wavy filtering sheet and a flat filtering sheet, pressing the filtering sheets, and rolling the filtering sheets. A part of peaks of the wavy filtering sheet are pressed to lean toward a same side. In particular, two sides of a first end sealing adhesive layer are pressed. Thus, the first end sealing adhesive layer is concentrated, such that the glue is uniformly spread to the two sides. Besides, the pressing on the two sides makes the two sides of the first end sealing adhesive layer adhered securely, thereby preventing the wavy filtering sheet from rebounding upward and forming bubbles. Thus, the first end sealing adhesive layer can be formed with less quantity of glue, which accelerating the cooling and raises manufacture efficiency.
Abstract: A low viscosity oil has more than 50% by weight of 9-methylnonadecane. A lubricating composition has this low viscosity oil as base oil and, optionally, another base oil or an additive. The low viscosity oil has a kinematic viscosity at 100° C., measured by the ASTM D445 standard, of 0.5 to 2.5 mm2s?1. The low viscosity oil can be prepared using a metallocene catalyst, and the low viscosity oil can be used as high performance lubricant for lubrication in the field of motors, hydraulic fluids and gears, in particular bridges and transmissions.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a supramolecular system in order to remove particles from a liquid medium containing same. According to the invention, the supramolecular system includes at least one molecule having a low molecular weight and/or an organic compound from living organisms, preferably from jellyfish, said compound being selected from among collagen, a polysaccharide, a proteoglycan or a mixture of two of said organic compounds, and said molecule having a low molecular weight and formula (I) as defined herein. The invention also relates to a method for removing particles from a liquid medium containing same. The invention is particularly suitable for use in water decontamination and biotechnology.

A viscosity index improver of the present invention contains a copolymer (A) containing, as monomer units, an alkyl (meth)acrylate (a) whose alkyl group contains 5 or more carbon atoms, and an alkyl (meth)acrylate (b) whose alkyl group contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms, wherein the alkyl group of the alkyl (meth)acrylate (a) whose alkyl group contains 5 or more carbon atoms has a molar-average carbon number (Q) of 29 or more, and the alkyl (meth)acrylate (b) whose alkyl group contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms is contained as a monomer unit in an amount of 38 to 75% by weight based on the weight of the copolymer (A).
