Abstract: Techniques to increase a speed of a growth of a service are disclosed. User-specific information is dynamically calculated for each of a plurality of users of the service while each of the plurality of users is accessing the service. The user-specific information includes scores associated with the plurality of users. The scores represent combined values of points associated with each of a set of scoring activities performed by each of the plurality of users with respect to the service. Designated users are identified from the plurality of users based on a determination that one or more qualifying criteria have been satisfied. A transferring of a value to each of the one or more identified designated users is initiated based on a determination that one or more granting criteria have been satisfied.

Abstract: A server system is provided for analyzing user interaction in an environment. The server system comprises a memory storing a set of instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to perform operations including determine a user has interacted with an item positioned in the environment based on a communication signal received from a hub physically located in the environment indicating an item tag associated with the item is linked with a user tag associated with the user. The server system may identify, based on one or more communication signals received from the hub, at least one metric associated with the user's interaction with the item and compare the at least one metric with a set of rules associated with the type of metric. The server system may provide an indication, based on the comparison, to a display device.

Abstract: A system for managing advertisements in an in-flight entertainment (“IFE”) system operating on an airplane can include an inventory processing device and a non-transitory computer readable medium. The non-transitory computer readable medium can be communicatively coupled to the inventory processing device to cause the inventory processing device to perform operations. The operations can include determining an inventory of targeted advertisements for future flights. The operations can further include receiving a request to use a portion of the inventory for advertisements associated with an advertiser. The operations can further include transmitting instructions to an IFE controller on-board the airplane to cause the IFE controller to provide the advertisements during targeted advertisement opportunities during a flight.

Abstract: As a viewer views and scrolls down a web content page in a browser window of a web browser, ad content for a particular ad placement area of the web content page that has been rendered and has not yet appeared in a viewport of the browser window is moved to a fixed position in the viewport. The ad content remains in this fixed ad placement area for a predetermined time period, thereby lingering in the viewport despite any scrolling of the web content page.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating and provisioning personalized news feeds for athletes. One embodiment is a system that receives metrics for exercise activities performed by athletes. The system generates records of the exercise activities of the athletes based on the metrics, determines a type of exercise for each record, classifies the records based on corresponding types of exercise, and compiles a fitness history, for each athlete, comprising records of exercise activities performed by the athlete. For each of the athletes, the system generates a digital news feed for the athlete, identifies categories of engagement for the athlete based on types of exercise indicated in the fitness history of the athlete, selects articles from a repository, personalizes the digital news feed for the athlete by populating the digital news feed with the selected articles, and transmits the digital news feed to a user device.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for a computational platform using machine learning for integration data sharing platforms. A user may engage in a transaction with another user, such as a purchase of goods, services, or other items from a merchant. A service provider may provide a data feed to the user via integrated computational platforms that allows the user to post data including information regarding the processed transaction. The post may include a share code that links back to the user and their corresponding transaction. Thereafter, the post may be viewed by other users and the share code may be used by the other users in order to perform similar transaction processing, where these later transactions are linked back to the original user. Tracking of these later transactions may be done through application extensions that allow the computational platforms to track user data over different online interactions.

Abstract: An example method includes detecting, using a user interaction tracking module associated with a website, access of a user of a webpage that is part of the website. The website provides multiple products for sale and is operated by an entity. The user interaction tracking module is provided by an offer aggregator entity that is distinct from the entity. The website has a theme providing a look and feel for the website. The method further includes accessing a profile of the user and identifying, based on the profile of the user, multiple offers to provide to the user. Each offer includes an offer title and a reference to one or more products of the multiple products. The method further includes providing for display to the user in the webpage the multiple offers. Each offer for display includes the offer title and the reference and has the theme of the website.

Abstract: In a video delivery context, collection and analysis of viewing data can provide insight into viewer interaction with video and the Internet. The viewing data can be transmitted in a controlled manner to a data repository. Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for optimizing inventory based on predicted viewership. An example embodiment operates by evaluating past viewership data for a periodic event, determining a tendency of a market segment to view the periodic event, and predicting viewership for a future event based on the determined tendency.

Abstract: An online host for conducting a promotion campaign is presented. Online behaviors of subscribers exposed by the promotion campaign are tracked for determining conversion counts for the promotion campaign. For exposed subscribers whose online behaviors are not sufficiently available to the online host to determine conversion counts (non-measurable subscribers), a machine learning model is trained to predict conversion counts based on online behaviors that are conducted on internet locations under control of the online service, and further trained to determine an estimated error rate regarding the predicted conversion counts.

Abstract: In various embodiments, boundaries of geo-fences can be made mutable based on principles described herein. The term “mutable” refers to the ability of a thing (in this case, the boundary of a geo-fence) to change and adjust. In a typical embodiment, a mutable geo-fence system is configured to generate and monitor a geo-fence that encompasses a region, in order to dynamically vary the boundary of the geo-fence based on a number of boundary variables. The term “geo-fence” as used herein describes a virtual perimeter (e.g., a boundary) for a real-world geographic area. A geo-fence could be a radius around a point (e.g., a store), or a set of predefined boundaries. Boundary variables, as used herein, refers to a set of variables utilized by the mutable geo-fence system in determining a location of the boundary of the geo-fence.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at a social-networking system an identifier corresponding to a post item stored in the social-networking system, and information indicative of a plurality of coordinated user gestures input into a composition interface control. The composition interface control comprises a plurality of interface targets each associated with a respective musical note. The information comprises target musical note and timing data associated with each of the user gestures. The method further includes translating the plurality of coordinated user gestures into a musical composition that includes musical notation reflecting the musical note and timing data of each user gesture. The method also includes associating the musical composition with the post item, and in response to receiving a request for the post item, formatting the post item and a graphical representation of each note in the musical composition for display in a user interface control.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling real-time bidding for online advertisements is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises communicating with a bidder and an impression server and an event tracking server. The bidder receives a real-time bidding (RTB) request containing an available impression from an exchange and places a bid corresponding to the RTB request. The impression server receives impression requests from a browser and responds to the impression requests from the browser. The event tracking server receives event requests from the browser and responds to event requests from the browser. Campaign performance data is retrieved from one or more of the impression server and the event tracking server and compared to the campaign target. The bidder is notified whether to bid for online advertisement impressions based on the campaign performance data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to collect impressions using media object characteristics are disclosed. An example apparatus includes an impressions monitor to receive a communication from a collector media object presented at a client device. The communication includes a first characteristic corresponding to the collector media object, and second characteristics respectively corresponding to a plurality of second media objects concurrently presented with the collector media object. The example apparatus further includes an attributor to associate demographic information with the first and second characteristics based on the first and second characteristics being received in the same communication from the client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for determining an advertisement based on the relative motion of an audience to the advertisement. The system determines the relative motion of the audience to the advertisement and the audience demographics to determine advertisement content and format. The system causes to be displayed the advertisement having both the determined content and format. For example, the systems and methods present a static advertisement image to an audience with a large relative motion to the advertisement, allowing the advertiser to present information to moving audiences who will not be potentially distracted by a video advertisement.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for electronically managing coupons. The user no longer has to clip and organize coupons. The need for hand processing of coupons is substantially reduced. Rebates or payments for coupons can be substantially hastened and can be deposited directly into a user's bank, credit card, or payment provider account. Merchants and manufactures no longer have to be concerned with receiving bad (e.g., invalid, expired, or counterfeit) coupons. Thus, the electronic coupon management system benefits the users, merchants, and manufactures.
