Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring a network and generating overall health scores for communications nodes in the network are described. A monitoring system receives information from a variety of system elements and/or devices which provide information relating to communications service. The information received by the network monitoring system includes information indicating the number of outstanding work orders issued in regard to a trouble report, signal power level variance information, signal alarm information, uncorrectable error information, correctable error information, offline device information, etc. A set of scores for a node are generated based on the different types of received information. The scores are combined using a weighted sum to generate an overall node health score. Nodes are ranked based on overall node health scores and maintenance personal can view the scores as well as the underlying information corresponding to a node to facilitate identification of possible faults.

Abstract: A viewing user is provided with sponsored story units when accessing content associated with a social networking system. The sponsored story units include a sponsored story describing an interaction and one or more related posts. The sponsored story may describe an action of another user connected to the viewing user who has interacted with a social networking object. The one or more related posts may include content associated with the social networking object involved in the interaction described by the sponsored story. The sponsored story unit can optionally include an input element with which the viewing user can interact. The information received from the viewing user via the input element can be used to generate additional sponsored story units to the viewing user's friends.

Abstract: A method of sharing a data quota in an electronic device includes grouping the electronic device and at least one other electronic device for sharing the data quota, selecting a sharing electronic device among the at least one other electronic device, through which to download data from a server, and receiving the download. Other embodiments including a server and an apparatus for sharing a data quota between electronic are also disclosed.

Abstract: The systems and methods described herein use a tag for collecting data associated with a content object of a content page. The tag may be a universal tag which can provide a single point of data collection and thereby reduce the number of network requests due to piggyback tags. The data collected from the content page may be communicated to a stream management system which can process the data and split the data into multiple data streams to be fed to a downstream system. The downstream system can further process the data and communicate to another downstream system. In some embodiments, the stream management system can access the repositories of its downstream system and veto the data flows created by the downstream system.

Abstract: Offline sharing of content is performed. An offline request to share content associated with a content sharing platform to a social networking service is received by a processing device of a user device. The offline request is received while the user device is not connected to a network. A share request is generated for the content in view of the social networking service. The share request for the content is generated while the user device is not connected to the network. Upon determining that a network connection is available, the share request for the content is provided to the social networking service.

Abstract: An application program spans a plurality of digital social networks. The application program includes an inferred digital social network. Consent is obtained from a plurality of users of the digital social networks to participation in the inferred digital social network. Information is automatically obtained from the digital social networks for the users, through a plurality of respective communication channels, which can be application program interfaces or covert or subliminal channels. The information includes link information between each of the users and other individuals in the digital social networks. The information is aggregated for the users to form the inferred digital social network, corresponding to a graph having nodes representing the users and the other individuals and having links between the nodes representing social relationships.

Abstract: The session-state of a local user interface is transferred to a mobile device to permit an operator to execute remote tasks while maintaining interaction with a central controller. The session-state can be transferred between a user interface that is local to a central controller and a mobile computing device using indicia provided by the local user interface or the mobile computing device. The session is identified by the indicia, which is detected by a sensor in the local user interface or the mobile computing device to transfer session-state therebetween. Session-state can be advanced or influenced by, input at one platform at a time. Execution of control can continue regardless of the location of session-state interaction. The indicia used to transfer session-state between platforms can be provided in the form of a key or token that includes identifying information for the session.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for resource optimization allocation via an interactive resource interface. In this way, the invention provides a comprehensive integrated platform for identification, continual monitoring and optimal allocation of resources on a mobile device. The invention enables identification of existing resources. In one aspect, the system identifies inflow resource transfers associated with a first resource. The system then determines if the inflow resource transfers are required for processing of critical tasks. Consequently, the system initiates a resource transfer, comprising at least a portion of the inflow resource transfer, from the first resource to a second user resource. Typically, the second resource is configured to promote resource accumulation. In another aspect of the invention, the system identifies a third user resource that is configured to foster resource growth, that is then linked with the second resource.

Abstract: A digital broadcast network is provided in which multiple original experiences powered by the same data is created. A server software intelligently handles delivery of data so that the data can be utilized by several different client-side applications at substantially the same time. Through filtering of large amounts of data and creation of a universal format, this data can be used by devices capable of receiving a digital broadcast stream.

Abstract: Pieces of hardware on which pieces of software are executed are configured to organize computing resources from different computing resource providers so as to facilitate their discovery. A catalog, which stores instances of cloud computing resources and their providers, and a knowledge base, which stores types of computing resources including rules which reveal their discovery, are formed by the software. A curating method is performed to enable semantic search including searching for cloud computing resources that in combination cooperate to satisfy a workload or a task in addition to having a simple computational function. Semantic indexing is performed to facilitate the semantic search.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for deploying edge servers are provided. The method includes: obtaining IP addresses of target users for the edge server to be deployed; mapping the IP addresses of the target users into a virtual geometric space; clustering the target users based on coordinates of the target users in the virtual geometric space, to obtain a plurality of user groups; and determining locations of the edge servers corresponding to the plurality of user groups based on the coordinates of the target users in the plurality of user groups.

Abstract: The present application discloses a method and apparatus for switching between servers in a server cluster. The server cluster includes at least one server for implementing a given service. A specific implementation of the method includes: detecting a number of servers in a standby state in the server cluster; starting at least one server in the server cluster so that the number of servers in the standby state reaches a predetermined number, in response to detecting the number of servers in the standby state being less than the predetermined number; monitoring a master server for providing a service in the server cluster; and selecting a server from the servers in the standby state as a master server to continue to provide the service, in response to detecting the master server being abnormal. This implementation solves the data loss problem caused by an abnormal termination or restart of the master server.

Abstract: A cloud computing system includes a first set of network computers providing a pool of virtual-enterprise resources integrated from lower-level cloud infrastructure including software as a service, platform as a service and infrastructure as a service. A second set of network computers form a soft gate providing access to the pool of virtual-enterprise resources by enterprise users accessing the cloud computing system via an external network. A third set of network computers form a business box providing for creation, management and use of certification cards to define the virtual-enterprise resources and to control use of the virtual-enterprise resources by the enterprise users. The soft gate and business box implement a card-creation flow that creates customized certification cards, and a card-usage flow that validates user privileges based on presentation of certification cards as a condition to granting access to virtual-enterprise resources.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to migrate a mobile device from a first virtual private mobile network to a second virtual private mobile network are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a processor and a memory including instructions that cause the processor to perform operations including determining, based on a set of latency routing rules, that a communication transmitted via the first virtual private mobile network is a latency sensitive communication. In response to determining the communication is a latency sensitive communication, the mobile device that originated the latency sensitive communication is identified. The mobile device is communicating via the first virtual private mobile network. Example operations also include migrating the mobile device from the first virtual private mobile network to the second virtual private mobile network wherein the second virtual private mobile network is configured to reduce the latency of the latency sensitive communication.

Abstract: Examples of techniques for jointly managing a cloud and non-cloud environment are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a method includes: receiving a request to be executed on one of a cloud resource and a non-cloud resource using one of cloud orchestration and non-cloud orchestration, the request comprising a plurality of tasks; scheduling the first task for execution on the cloud resource by a cloud orchestration device using a joint cloud and non-cloud management device; scheduling the second task for execution on the non-cloud resource by a non-cloud orchestration device using a non-cloud management device; and scheduling the third task for execution on the non-cloud resource by the non-cloud orchestration device using the joint cloud and non-cloud management device.
