  • Patent number: 10898635
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to extracorporeal blood processing or other processing of fluids. Volumetric fluid balance, a required element of many such processes, may be achieved with multiple pumps or other proportioning or balancing devices which are to some extent independent of each other. This need may arise in treatments that involve multiple fluids. Safe and secure mechanisms to ensure fluid balance in such systems are described.

  • Patent number: 10883240
Abstract: A skimming and separation device includes an outer casing defining a compartment, a floater that provides a skimming function, the floater being attached at its lower side to a vertically arranged bellow allowing the floater to adapt flow into a substantially circum volume and to move from an upper position with essentially no flow into the compartment to a lower position allowing flow of water and debris to follow the contours of the floater in a downward direction. The device further includes a power device with a propeller, the power device being controlled by a control unit such that various kinds of flows and pressures may be generated to control the in-flow and outflow of the device. At least one peripheral flow deflecting member achieves a rotational movement of downward directed flow of water and debris, in a horizontal plane and around a vertical longitudinal center axis of the device.

  • Patent number: 10870595
Abstract: The efficiency of water disinfection can be significantly increased by supplying the ozone in combination with oxygen to an inlet of a cavitation pump or a line atomizer. A compressor can be introduced at an inlet of the cavitation pump or the line atomizer, compressing the gas mixture at a pressure higher than the pressure within pump or the atomizer. The compressed gases are provided to the inlet of the atomizer or the pump, where the compressed gases mix with the water and enter the cavitation pump or the line atomizer (where most of the dissolution of the gases happens). The compressor allows to increase the amount of oxygen and ozone provided to the pump or the line atomizer, increasing their dissolved concentration. In addition to the disinfecting properties, the higher level of oxygen correlates to an improved taste of the water.

  • Patent number: 10821383
Abstract: An apparatus and method prevent entrained solids from entering a pump by directing a process stream through an active upstream filter that removes the solids, and then through a downstream idle filter where the process stream purges the filter of previously retained solids. The flow path is periodically switched to exchange the roles of the filters, so that none of the filters is saturated, and the solids remain in the process flow but bypass the pump. Any need for a low pressure destination for purged solids and purging fluid and/or any environmental impact of dumping process fluid and solids into the environment is thereby avoided. Partially opened valves can be used to divert only part of the downstream flow for filter purging. Selectable paths can be included for which no filters are purged. The downstream flow can be divided and used to simultaneously purge a plurality of idle filters.
