  • Patent number: 9596326
Abstract: A first header compression table for compressing a message header is generated based on a first communication connection established between communication apparatuses. A message is transmitted from a communication apparatus to another communication apparatus based on the first communication connection, and a header of the message has been compressed based on the first header compression table. It is determined whether the first header compression table is used as a second header compression table for compressing a message header to be communicated based on a second communication connection which is different from the first communication connection and has been established between the communication apparatuses. The header of the message to be communicated based on the second communication connection is compressed using the first header compression table as the second header compression table in accordance with the determination.

  • Patent number: 9585167
Abstract: A device to device (D2D) user equipment and a base station are provided. The D2D user equipment includes a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver receives a wireless signal having a hybrid access channel carrying a D2D hybrid access map. The processor is electrically connected to the transceiver retrieves the D2D hybrid access map from the hybrid access channel. The D2D hybrid access map indicates a D2D resource block. A first D2D user equipment transmits a D2D hybrid access request to a second D2D user equipment via the D2D resource block and the second D2D user equipment transmits a D2D hybrid access response to the first D2D user equipment via the D2D resource block. Accordingly, the first D2D user equipment and the second D2D user equipment perform D2D data transmission according to the D2D data transmission information carried in the D2D hybrid access response.

  • Patent number: 9571226
Abstract: In order to improve efficiency of data transmission in a wireless transmission band under a condition in which both adaptive modulation scheme and FDD scheme are employed, and fixed rate signals and a variable rate signal are multiplex-transmitted, one wireless transmission device (2_1) multiplexes a plurality of fixed rate signals (FS1_1 to n) and a variable rate signal (VS2) to generate a frame (FR1), and sends the frame (FR1) to another wireless transmission device (2_2) through a wireless transmission path (CH1). At this time, the device (2_1) includes, in the frame (FR1), information (MN) relating to a number of multiplexed fixed rate signals. The device (2_2) multiplexes a plurality of fixed rate signals (FS3_1 to n) and a variable rate signal (VS3) to generate a frame (FR2), and sends the frame (FR2) to the device (2_1) through a wireless transmission path (CH2) having a different frequency.

  • Patent number: 9572120
Abstract: An electronic device is described. In order to facilitate the communication of synchronization information with another electronic device in a wireless network, the electronic device provides a request for the synchronization information to the other electronic device at a time other than a predefined synchronization transmission time of the other electronic device. Then, the electronic device receives the synchronization information from the other electronic device in response to the request. In this way, the probability that the synchronization information is successfully communicated is increased, and the amount of time the electronic device is in an active mode is reduced, thereby reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 9521112
Abstract: A single virtual telephone number that is used to route telephony communications is assigned to first and second users if the first and second users rarely, if ever, communicate with the same party. When an incoming call is received on the virtual telephone number, telephony information for the first and second users is reviewed to determine if the calling party is one that has communicated with either of the first and second users in the past. If so, the telephony communication is routed to the user who has communicated with the calling party in the past.

  • Patent number: 9485526
Abstract: By way of a non-limiting example, a server resource receives portions of a non-adaptive bit rate data stream. The server resource also receives portions of an adaptive bit rate data stream. The server resource interleaves the portions of the adaptive bit rate data stream and the portions of the non-adaptive bit rate data stream onto the multi-stream data channel. Thereafter, the server resource initiates transmission of the multi-stream data channel (which includes the adaptive bit rate data stream and the non-adaptive bit rate data stream) over a network such as a backbone or core network to a downstream resource such as a distribution resource. The distribution resource, in turn, transmits the adaptive bit rate data stream and the non-adaptive bit rate data stream to a group of multiple subscribers that have shared access to communication link in a cable network environment.
