  • Patent number: 10952177
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for dynamic subscription handling are provided. One method includes receiving, by a control node in a network, a request in which a user equipment requests to register with the network or requests to obtain a specific service for a certain access point name. The method may then include determining whether the user equipment is authorized to obtain services from the network or authorized to use the access point name. When it is determined that the user equipment is not authorized to obtain services from the network or not authorized to use the access point name, the method includes re-directing the user equipment to a subscription server, sending a response to the user equipment indicating that the request is rejected with re-direction, and triggering establishment of a packet data connectivity session for the user equipment.

  • Patent number: 10951365
Abstract: A technique for transferring data on a radio bearer is described. The split radio bearer includes a first layer entity (570) at a first layer of a protocol stack and at least two second layer entities at a second layer of the protocol stack. The second layer is lower than the first layer in the protocol stack. In a method aspect of the technique, the data is received through each of the at least two second layer entities (582, 584). The data received through the at least two second layer entities (582, 584) is validated. If a result of the validation is indicative of an inconsistency in the data received through the at least two second layer entities (582, 584), a retransmission of the data is selectively triggered through at least one of the second layer entities (582, 584).

  • Patent number: 10917352
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for Selective Tracking of Acknowledgments (STACKing) to improve buffer utilization and traffic shaping for one or more network devices. A network device can identify a first flow that corresponds to a predetermined traffic class and a predetermined congestion state. The device can determine a current window size and congestion threshold of the first flow. In response to a determination to selectively track a portion of acknowledgments of the first flow, the device can track, in main memory, information of a first portion of acknowledgments of the first flow. The device can exclude, from one or more buffers, a second portion of acknowledgments of the first flow. The device can re-generate and transmit segments corresponding to the second portion of acknowledgments at a target transmission rate based on traffic shaping policies for the predetermined traffic class and congestion state.

  • Patent number: 10887904
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may implement cross-carrier scheduling. A user equipment (UE) may identify a minimum scheduling delay and may receive a downlink grant on a first CC. The UE may the receive the downlink data transmission, as indicated in the downlink grant, in the identified slot. In some examples, the UE and the base station may alternate between a long minimum scheduling delay and a short minimum scheduling delay. In some examples, the UE and the base station may alternate between a cross-carrier mode, and a self-scheduling mode.

  • Patent number: 10873848
Abstract: A method performed by a system which manages station transition from a Wi-Fi access point includes sending, based on the station roaming to an edge-of-domain access point, a request to neighboring access points to the edge-of-domain access point for neighbor reports. The method includes receiving a cellular signal value from the station, comparing a first signal grade associated with the edge-of-domain access point to a second signal grade associated with the cellular signal value to yield a comparison and generating a link usability rating associated with a link between the station and the edge-of-domain access point. Based at least in part on the comparison and the link usability rating, the method includes transmitting a message to the station suggesting that the station roam from the edge-of-domain access point to a cellular network. An edge of the domain can also be dynamic and vary based on station characteristics.

  • Patent number: 10849164
Abstract: A method of high reliability and early data transmission (EDT) is proposed. EDT allows one uplink transmission (optionally) followed by one downlink data transmission during a random-access channel (RACH) procedure, which can reduce the signaling overhead and save UE power. To improve reliability, for uplink EDT, there would be different set of RACH reattempt parameters in the UE for different types of access. For downlink EDT, there would be an indication in the paging message to trigger whether the UE would use legacy RACH or not. Further, the configuration for PRACH resource for EDT can be independent to legacy PRACH resource configuration. Under certain conditions, UE can fallback to legacy RACH procedure for high reliability.

  • Patent number: 10833838
Abstract: Techniques for employing precise transmission capabilities of a physical (PHY) layer to transmit time-synchronization beacons at an edge-of-field-resolution increment of a field of MAC layer frame. In some examples, the PHY layer may transmit beacons with a greater precision than permitted by lower-resolution MAC layer header fields. The communication protocol may specify the size of the field that is populated with timing information at a first precision. However, the PHY layer may be capable of transmitting with a second precision that is greater than the first precision. Thus, to virtually increase the time-synchronization resolution of the beacons, the beacons may be transmitted by the PHY layer at an edge-of-field resolution of the MAC layer header field. In this way, the first precision of the timing information in the MAC layer header field is virtually increased to the second precision of the PHY layer.

  • Patent number: 10820299
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), may receive a configuration of a wake-up signal periodicity and perform discontinuous monitoring for a plurality of wake-up signals based at least in part on the wake-up signal periodicity. In some cases, the UE may perform a radio resource management (RRM) measurement according to an RRM measurement periodicity that corresponds to the wake-up signal periodicity. In such cases, the UE may monitor for paging messages to receive paging information, or updates to system information, during one or more wake-up signal occasions that correspond to the RRM measurement periodicity. For instance, paging information may be received while the UE is performing RRM measurements, where paging message may be monitored for based on the wake-up signal periodicity.
