  • Patent number: 10734025
Abstract: Techniques and devices for generating multiple output video variations for an input video based on a shared resource architecture. The shared resource architecture reuses and shares computational and gating results from one or more operations to create the multiple output video variations. The shared resource architecture applies a frame-time normalization of the trimmed and stabilized video to produce a trimmed stabilized normalized video and, thereafter, uses the trimmed stabilized normalized video to precompute one or more video parameters that can be shared with multiple output video variations. The shared resource architecture can then generate multiple output video variations using the shared video parameters.

  • Patent number: 10726559
Abstract: The invention relates generally to edge detection and presentation in thermal images. Infrared and visible light images comprising at least partially overlapping target scenes are analyzed. An edge detection process is performed on the visible light image to determine which pixels represent edges in the target scene. A display image is generated in which some pixels include infrared image data and in which pixels corresponding to edges in the visible light image include a predetermined color and do not include corresponding infrared image data to emphasize edges. Edge pixels in the display image can include exclusively the predetermined color, or in some examples, a blend of a predetermined color and visible light image data. Methods can include replacing one or the other of visible light edge pixels or corresponding infrared pixels with the predetermined color before combining the visible light and infrared image data to create a display image.

  • Patent number: 10726270
Abstract: Technologies are generally described that relate to managing videos relating to events. An example technique can include analyzing audio content captured by an audio capture component and associated with video content captured by an image capture component to facilitate determining whether a defined event exists in the audio content. The technique also can include, in response to determining that the defined event exists in the audio content based on the analyzing, determining whether the image capture component captured event-related video content related to the defined event based on a result of analyzing a first direction in which the defined event occurred relative to the audio capture component in relation to a second direction that the image capture component was facing while capturing the video content, in accordance with a defined match criterion, to facilitate determining whether to present, emphasize, or select at least the video content.

  • Patent number: 10721282
Abstract: Streaming media is problematic for thin clients using remoting protocols like RDP that were never designed to handle the volume of data associated with multimedia. The result is large demands on the host computer and thin client CPU and excessive bandwidth on the network, which results in a poor display quality. A process running on a host computer detects an existing multimedia acceleration channel to a thin client and also identifies unaccelerated media streams like Adobe Flash. The unaccelerated content is automatically re-encoded using a codec format supported by the thin client acceleration channel. This results in a significant improvement in the quality of the streaming media displayed on the thin client and overall reductions in host CPU load, network bandwidth and thin client CPU load. No additional software is required on the thin clients to support new media types including Adobe Flash.

  • Patent number: 10720169
Abstract: A recording device, such as a video camera, emits audio watermarks (e.g., audible tones, inaudible tones) and records audio watermarks emitted by other recording devices. The audio watermarks provide information (e.g., data) such as an identifier of the camera and the identity of the operator. Audio watermarks may further include time information such as a timestamp indicating the time that the audio watermark was emitted by the camera. Audio watermarks may be emitted and recorded at intervals while recording an incident. A processing system, such as a digital video and audio processing system, may receive video information and recorded watermarks from multiple recording devices. The processing system may use the audio watermarks recorded by each recording device to determine which recording devices were in the vicinity of an incident. The processing system may also use the audio watermarks to align (e.g., synchronize) the video recorded by the various recording devices.

  • Patent number: 10713536
Abstract: A camera method and a monitoring camera with an animal recognition function are provided. The camera method includes two steps of image capture and feature identification. Specifically, a camera system is started when a trigger signal representing that a moving object enters a camera range is captured by a trigger sensor of a monitoring camera, and the monitoring camera captures an image of an animal within the camera range. Then the captured image is transmitted to a feature identification system configured on the monitoring camera to determine an animal category of the animal presented in the captured image by the feature identification system, thereby classifying and storing the captured image. The camera method and the monitoring camera store the captured images separately from other images as needed, thereby effectively improving efficiency of browsing and analyzing the images of the monitored animal, which brings convenience to the user.

  • Patent number: 10715776
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling playback control functions of a media player are disclosed. For example, a user of a client device receiving streaming playback of a video stream may perform rewind and fast forward control functions. The client device may implement these playback control functions by retrieving an enhanced playback segment. Using the enhanced playback segment, the media player may display selected frames at a predetermined interval while maintaining a visual cadence that is pleasing to a viewer. In the described embodiments, a client device may render a video stream, receive a command to control a fast forward or rewind playback mode for the video stream, and retrieve, from a distribution server or associated edge cache, one or more enhanced playback segments adapted to implement the user command.
