Abstract: A method of vulnerability analysis of a deployed program (program) includes inputting a binary program under analysis (BPUA) derived from the program. The method includes analyzing input/output (I/O) behavior of the program. The method includes discovering inputs to the program based on application of exploration techniques to the BPUA and analysis of the I/O behavior. The method includes determining which of the inputs are negative inputs. The negative inputs are inputs that trigger a response that includes a vulnerability of the program. Based on the negative inputs and triggered responses, the method includes developing a patch for the program that modifies the program to process at least some of the negative inputs without triggering a response that includes the vulnerability. The method includes automatically dispatching the patch.

  • Patent number: 9735960
Abstract: A portable computer capable of protecting an encryption key that is sent out to a disk drive after a preboot process has ended is disclosed. The portable computer includes a disk drive for encrypting a volume as a whole, and for decoding data at the volume in response to a receipt of an encryption key from a system. The portable computer also includes a key transfer mechanism, a tamper detection mechanism and a protecting mechanism. In response to a boot process starting from a power-off state, the key transfer mechanism automatically sends the encryption key to the disk drive. The tamper detection mechanism detects a physical tampering of the disk drive. In response to a detection of a physical tampering by the tamper detection mechanism, the protecting mechanism prevents an operation of automatically sending the encryption key to the disk drive by the key transfer mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9698919
Abstract: A system and method sequentially measure the amplitude and phase of a signal in each of two or more noncontiguous spectrum segments (e.g., harmonics) which each include two or more portions which together span the spectrum segment, using a local oscillator (LO) signal whose frequency and phase change for each measurement. The measured phase of the signal for at least one of the portions in each spectrum segment is adjusted to account for the change of phase in the LO signal from measurement of one portion to another, using phases of one or more pilot tones measured in each portion. The phase-adjusted measurements of the output signal in the various portions are stitched together to determine the amplitude and phase of the output signal across the spectrum segment. The phase relationships between the spectrum segments are determined from phases of comb teeth of a comb signal measured in each spectrum segment.
