Abstract: One or more embodiments described herein include methods and systems of sending multimedia content items as electronic communications. More specifically, systems and methods described herein provide user the ability to easily and effectively select multimedia content items stored on a computing device for inclusion in a communication session without navigating away from the communication session. Additionally, systems and methods described herein provide a user the ability to edit multimedia content items for inclusion in the communication session.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a system for monitoring and controlling an online user profile of a user. In response to receiving a data request from the user to access a first web site, the system forwards the data request and desired persona scores to an intelligence service system, receives a list of other web sites from the intelligence service system, and counteracts the user's access to the first web site by spawning multiple threads in accordance with the list received. The multiple threads spawned are transparent to the user. Further, the system alters an original data post submission from the user based on a desired translation option, maps the altered data post submission to a first key, and posts the altered data post submission to a target web site. The original data post submission is viewable only by the user and other users with the first key.

Abstract: Systems and methods enable displaying a graphical representation of system resource usage in a resource utilization map to inform users about system resource utilization by applications and processes running on a computing device. Users may provide inputs to enable the system to adjust resource allocations based on user preferences. This may enable users to improve the overall operational performance of the device consistent with their current personal preferences by identifying applications or processes of most or least interest so the device processor to prioritize system resources accordingly. Some aspects transmit resource allocation data based on such user input to a central server to enable community based resource allocation schemes. Community based resource allocation schemes may be transmitted to computing devices for use as default or preliminary resource allocations for particular applications, websites or device operating states.

Abstract: In a graphical user interface environment, a situational-specific browser may be used to provide contextually appropriate levels of information for files whose information is to be displayed. As different views of files are to be displayed, the browser may dynamically adjust its configuration to display different types of information, features and/or command options. Different views may be predefined, or new views may be dynamically created in response to user navigation.

Abstract: A programmable effects system for graphical user interfaces is disclosed. One embodiment comprises adjusting a graphical user interface in response to a tilt of a device. In this way, a graphical user interface may display a parallax effect in response to the device tilt.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying and accessing contacts in a contact list on a display device. In some embodiments, the method includes displaying a list of contacts on the display device, wherein the list of contacts is separated into groups of contacts by contact group separators based on at least one configuration setting, generating a quick access index including a plurality of selectable index items each associated with a group of contacts, wherein the selectable index items are only generated for the groups of contacts that include at least one contact, and displaying the quick access index over at least a portion of the list of contacts.

An action prioritization routine optimizes the display of the possible selectable action items associated with notifications as well as controls a number of other functions regarding notifications.

Abstract: A method of disabling a locking screen of an electronic device is provided. The method includes selecting at least two objects among at least three objects each having a unique color, determining whether at least one of a color order and a rotation direction of the selected at least two objects matches a pre-set color order and a pre-set rotation direction, and disabling a locking screen upon determining the match with at least one of the pre-set color order and the pre-set rotation direction.

Abstract: A system and method for managing messages within an application interface that includes receiving a message stream; providing a navigational menu to a set of message streams; detecting an initiated gesture item for at least one message within a view of the navigational menu; tracking gesture-state within a progressive order of gesture-states; identifying an action of the gesture-state wherein the action corresponds to the current view and relative ordering of the navigational menu; and applying the message sorting action on the message according to a final gesture-state.

Abstract: In one aspect, a system includes a service processor (SP), having a processor, a non-volatile memory and a communication interface. The SP receives a component information of components of a host computer from a basic input/output system (BIOS) being executed at a central processing unit (CPU) of the host computer through the communication interface, and stores the received component information in the non-volatile memory. When the SP receives an instruction to display a physical layout of the components of the host computer, the SP retrieves the component information for each of the components stored in the non-volatile memory, and generates corresponding display information for each of the components based on the retrieved component information. Then the SP may send the display information to a remote management computer to display a graphical diagram of the physical layout on a display device at the remote management computer.

Abstract: A method includes monitoring an activity stream to identify actions that match stored sponsored story specifications, for providing one or more sponsored stories to a viewing user. The sponsored story specifications include a visual specification for the sponsored story, and matched sponsored stories are ranked for a viewing user. Users can set privacy preferences related to sponsored stories. The ranking and privacy settings contribute to which sponsored stories are provided for display to the viewing user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for personalization using image clouds to represent content. Image clouds can be used to identify initial user interest, present recommended content, present popular content, present search results, and present user profile information. Image clouds are interactive, allowing users to select images displayed in the image cloud, which can contribute to presenting more personalized content as well as updating a user's profile.

Abstract: An automated method for generating Graphical User Interfaces (GUI's) is illustrated in the context of a system for processing financial applications. In one embodiment, the GUI generator converts domain data representing over one thousand application types into an equal number of corresponding user screens. The interface may also be bi-directional, operating on user inputs to validate data or check for double keying.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and apparatus for timeline-synchronized note taking during a web conference. The method comprises receiving a note from a user in a web conference; generating metadata that identifies a timestamp in the web conference when the note was created and a user identifier of the user who authored the note; and storing the note and the metadata with a recording of the web conference.

Abstract: Described herein is a system in which multiple display devices may be located remotely throughout a facility. The system receives location information for a number of users within the facility. The system is able to identify a set of users collocated with a particular display device and generate a set of configuration settings specific to that set of users. Information provided by the system, either in response to an information request or automatically, may be formatted and/or filtered according to the generated set of configuration settings. In some embodiments, the set of configuration settings may be compiled from each of the users in the set of users based on priority.

Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for storing content on a portable computer-readable medium. A computer system receives a request to store a medical image and additional data in a different format on the portable computer-readable medium. The medical image and the additional data to be stored are received in a computer memory, and an association is established between the additional data and the medical image so the additional data is stored with the medical image on the portable computer-readable medium. The medical image and the additional data are stored on the portable computer-readable medium with an application that, when executed by a user computer, grants a user access to both the medical image and the additional data on the portable computer-readable medium.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling an application using key inputs or a combination thereof.
