  • Patent number: 4531898
Abstract: There is provided a control device for a vane type variable displacement pump. The control device eliminates the need of a hydraulic cylinder to control the eccentricity of a cam ring of the vane pump. A pressure difference between a second chamber and a high pressure side of the pump first chamber on a low-pressure side of the vane pump is utilized to determine the eccentricity of the cam ring. A regulator valve is connected to the first chamber and with the second chamber in order to allow or prevent communication between the two chambers. A spring is also provided to always force the cam ring in a direction so as to make the eccentricity of the cam ring larger.

The pumping apparatus also includes electronic circuit elements for controlling the inlet valves, exhaust valves and precompression valves of the hydraulic circuit of the pumping apparatus. The apparatus includes phase control circuit elements for controlling the separation of the leading edges of the plungers of two of the pumping sections of the apparatus when the apparatus is operating as a quadruplex pump. The pumping apparatus also includes elecrtronic circuit elements for insuring that each plunger of each pumping section stops at a fixed stopping point. The apparatus also includes electronic circuit elements for controlling the volume of fluid in the rod end portions of each of the pumping sections.

  • Patent number: 4492545
Abstract: In a cam ring of a vane pump having a contoured bore whole wall is constantly and slidingly engaged by the radially outermost ends of vanes during rotation of a rotor, a radially inner part of the cam ring including the wall of the contoured bore is formed of sintered alloy while a radially outer part surrounding the inner part is formed of a material which prevents working fluid from oozing out therethrough. The outer part comprises a moulding of plastics, a die casting or a piece blanked from a steel sheet.

  • Patent number: 4484869
Abstract: A volumetric fluid compressor or a so-called scroll type compressor is provided in which a rotary shaft is placed centrally in the front side of a housing, a helical portion of a movable scroll member is contacted eccentrically with a helical portion of a fixed scroll member, the helical portion of the movable scroll member is rotated about the axis of the rotary shaft to which the movable scroll member is mounted with an offset, in such a manner that a closed space defined between the two helical portions may be contracted towards the center for compressing the refrigerant gas which may thus be discharged towards rear from the center of the fixed scroll member.

  • Patent number: 4472122
Abstract: The disclosed rolling piston type compressor comprises a needle bearing sandwiched between two bearing washers and serving as a thrust bearing for a rotary shaft and a resilient sealing ring of polytetrafluoroethylene press fitted into a space defined by the outer periphery of the needle bearing and the two bearing washers. Alternatively the sealing ring may be formed of cast iron and seal the space with an oil film disposed in a clearance between the ring and one of the bearing washers.

  • Patent number: 4465444
Abstract: A reversible gear machine which can be used either as a gear pump or as a gear motor regardless of the pressure gradient direction between its inlet and outlet ports includes a housing accommodating meshing gears for rotation about their respective axes which are defined by respective stub shafts extending axially beyond the end faces of the gears. At least one pressure element, which may be constituted by bearing members for the stub shafts, and which is movable axially of the respective stub shafts, has a surface facing away from the gears. A sealing component including a relatively rigid support ring and an elastically yieldable sealing body is accommodated in a groove of the sealing element provided at the aforementioned surface of the latter, such that the support ring contacts the close end wall of the housing and a rib of the sealing body contacts the bottom of the groove and subdivides the latter into two compartments.

  • Patent number: 4457676
Abstract: A scroll type fluid displacement apparatus is disclosed which includes a housing having a front end plate and a cup shaped casing. A fixed wrap extends into an operative interior area of the casing from an inner end surface of an end plate of the cup shaped casing. An orbiting scroll has an end plate from which an orbiting wrap extends, and an opening at the center of the end plate. A drive shaft is rotatably supported by the front end plate and a crank pin extends from its inner end surface. The crank pin is rotatably carried within the opening of the end plate of the orbiting scroll through a bearing to thereby rotatably support the orbiting scroll. The crank pin has a radial flange at its inner end surface and a spring washer is disposed between the radial flange and the bearing to urge the orbiting scroll against the front end plate.

  • Patent number: 4457675
Abstract: The volumetric fluid compressor device or so-called scroll type compressor device comprises a rotary shaft mounted centrally at the front side of a housing and a movable scroll member having its scroll portion partially contacted with a scroll portion of a fixed scroll member. Sealed chambers or compression chambers delimited between the two scroll portions are contracted towards the center for compressing the refrigerant gas therein. A slider is mounted at the inner end of the rotary shaft for reciprocation radially thereof. An offset pin having an axis offset from the axis of the rotary shaft is fast with the slider and carries the movable scroll member. The slider is normally urged by a compression spring in a direction to reduce the amount of offset, that is, to reduce the radius of offset rotation of the offset pin, and may be urged by the pressure in the compression chamber in a direction to increase the radius of offset rotation of the offset pin against resiliency of the compression spring.

  • Patent number: 4431380
Abstract: In a scroll compressor, means for maintaining the motion of an orbiting plate in fixed angular relationship to a stationary plate and for modulating the capacity of the compressor. The orbiting and stationary plates include intermeshed wrap elements of similar spiral shape about an axis. A coupling ring is slideably disposed between the plates and sealingly encloses the wrap elements. Four slots are provided in the coupling ring, aligned at right angles to each other and spaced apart around its inner circumference. Three segments, extending outward from the wrap elements, sealingly engage these slots. The fourth slot is engaged by a sliding key attached to one of the plates. The segments separate a first and a second fluid inlet and cooperate with the slots in the coupling ring to constrain the orbiting plate's motion in fixed angular relationship to the stationary plate.
