    Abstract: A bone oximeter probe includes an elongated member and a sensor head at an end of the elongated member to make measurements for a bone. The measurements can indicate the viability or nonviability of the bone. In an implementation, the probe is advanced through an incision in soft tissue, towards the underlying bone, and positioned so that the sensor head faces the bone to be measured. Optical signals are sent from the sensor head and into the bone. The bone reflects some of the optical signals which are then detected so that measurements for the bone can be made. Some of these measurements include an oxygen saturation level value, and a total hemoglobin concentration value of the bone.

In an acquisition position of the transfer unit, a grommet can be pushed onto the mandrel and, in a delivery position, the mandrel is in an operative connection with the assembly unit such that the grommet can be transferred from the mandrel to the assembly unit with the expansion sleeve temporarily encompassing the mandrel in the delivery position. The mandrel and the expansion sleeve are oriented in the same direction, and the assembly unit is a modular unit with a grommet-receiving device and a downstream expansion sleeve.

    Abstract: In a method for manufacturing lamination stacks of controlled height in a tool, starting material is provided as continuous strip delivered from a coil or as an individual sheet. Laminations are punched from the starting material in several punching steps to a required contour of the laminations. A heat-curing adhesive is applied onto the laminations prior to performing a last punching step. The laminations are combined to a lamination stack. The laminations of the lamination stack are partially or completely heated in a lamination storage. The adhesive is liquefied by heating the lamination stack to build up adhesion and then solidified. Curing the adhesive at the liquefying temperature or solidifying the adhesive in the tool by cooling and subsequently heating the adhesive to a temperature below the liquefying temperature is possible so that the adhesive does not melt but undergoes further curing resulting in higher temperature stability.

    Abstract: Rectangular conductor wires are often used in alternator applications requiring a high slot fill to maximize output and efficiency. However for lower output and efficiency applications, round conductor wire may increase cost competiveness in these alternators. A common lamination for a core alternatively accommodates both rectangular conductor wires and round conductor wires for different applications without any other component changes. The lamina has a slot that aligns round wire in a single row within the slot and provides a predetermined clearance from the slot opening. A stator core formed from these laminae has a relatively high slot fill factor when wound with the round wire. The same stator core can be alternatively wound with square wire to increase the slot fill factor even higher. The common lamination results in two stator configurations: a high slot fill version (round wire) and a very high slot fill version (square wire).
