Abstract: A chew toy assembly that is selectively convertible between a ball configuration and a bone configuration. The chew toy assembly has two invertible structures that are disposed at opposite ends of an elongated body. Each of the invertible structures is selectively configured between a hemispherical shape and a funnel shape by physical manipulation, wherein each invertible structure has a central hub. When the invertible structures are in their hemispherical shapes, the invertible structures form a ball around the elongated body. Alternatively, when the invertible structures are in their funnel shapes, the invertible structures diverge away from the elongated body in opposite directions, therein forming a bone configuration.

Abstract: An apparatus that maintains housebreaking pads for a pet owner, automatically removing and sealing soiled pads and waste and replacing the soiled pad with a clean pad. The apparatus senses when a pet is using a housebreaking pad, and when the pet is finished, removes and seals the pad and the waste automatically, moving the pad into a repository for later disposal and replacing the soiled pad with a clean pad. The apparatus seals the waste and pad with plastic film having low vapor permeability for disposal on a once-daily or less frequent basis. The apparatus minimizes or eliminates odors associated with canine elimination by removing the pads immediately after elimination is completed, and sealing the waste. A control unit, triggered by a sensor, has a single cycle or a multiple cycle operation, operating a motor that rolls the soiled composite pad onto an arbor in the repository.

Abstract: An animal restraining device and method provide dual capability for restraining an animal and administering medications. A first embodiment provides an administration tube connected to a body with handles which can be grasped by user to position the device either for restraining or administering medications. A second embodiment is a continuous hook-shaped member having a hollow passageway in order to introduce medications. The second embodiment is reversible to place either end of the device in the animal's mouth for restraining or administering medications, depending upon the size of the particular animal. The method of restraint includes positioning the device in the animal's mouth and applying a force to elicit a natural response by the animal which causes the animal to pause or remain motionless for a period of time while a caregiver may treat or examine the animal.

Abstract: A saddle horn assembly attached to the tree of a saddle in lieu of a conventional saddle horn consisting of a post of rectangular prismatic configuration with a receiving chamber for insertion of a quick release locking pin, a cap with a quick release locking pin attached to and protruding from the bottom thereof that allows the cap to be detached and reattached to the post within seconds, and a dally traction device with a central void of complimentary dimensions to the post, having a hyperboloid external configuration and being symmetrical in both the horizontal and vertical planes such that the device may be rotated and/or inverted about the post so that it may be quickly and easily manipulated to numerous positions to generate even wear about the exterior, thus increasing the longevity of the device and improving the safety and effectiveness of dallying.

Abstract: A telescopic outrigger for use with fishing vessels. The outrigger of the instant invention has multiple tubes that are circular in shape and each include a means for securing to an adjoining tube and locking in a position relative thereto. The circular shape allowing for ease of sealing the connecting components from the elements. An internal locking mechanism for positive interlocking of adjoining tubes can be accessed externally for ease of servicing. The extension of the adjoining tubes by the locking mechanism allows for movement of the outrigger pole from a stowage position to a deployment position and vice versa.

Abstract: A self regulated feeder for a footbath for animals may include a hollow container for a source of fluid, an outlet passageway to connect the hollow container with the footbath, an air return passageway to connect the hollow container to ambient air to return air to the hollow container, and a differential valve to restrict the returning air to the hollow container. The fluid may include air, and the fluid may include a liquid having a disinfect agent. The self regulated feeder may include a flush passageway to flush the footbath, and the air return passageway may be connected to a liquid trap container to prevent fluid from the footbath from reaching the hollow container.

Abstract: A drawer-mounted feed bowl shelf to hold an animal's food or water bowl, adapted for mounting on the edges of the sidewalls of a cabinet drawer, or for mounting between the sidewalls of a drawer is disclosed. The first embodiment includes expandable mount means to permit mounting on or in drawers of various widths. The expandable mount means include two sections one above the other, the upper one moving laterally relative to the lower section. The second fixed-width embodiment can be either mounted permanently or removably on or fixedly in a cabinet drawer. A gasket that fits over and within the opening for the bowl adds friction to prevent bowl movement when present. This invention permits the feed bowl to be out of sight when not in use.

Abstract: A pet grooming device is provided including a brush base with a plurality of bristles and at least one base latch for securing a biased platform. Included with the biased platform is at least one platform latch for securing the biased platform to the brush base by interconnecting the brush base latch with the biased platform latch.

Abstract: A Christmas tree stand, a method for affixing a Christmas tree to a Christmas tree stand, and a drill bit for forming a groove in the bottom of a Christmas tree are provided. The Christmas tree stand includes a base having a male member extending upwardly therefrom with at least a portion of the male member received in the groove in the bottom of the Christmas tree. Preferably an insert in the form of a cylinder is received within the groove. Upon the receipt of the male member in the groove, the Christmas tree is stabilized on the base.

Abstract: A receptacle that is removably attached onto a support means and is functional for supporting a fishing rod and reel therein in an upright vertical position. More particularly, the invention pertains to a cradle that is of a shape and size to firmly support the fishing rod and reel without the need for any type of brackets, bolts, straps, clips or the like. More importantly, the cradle is easily supported in a manner that allows the fisherman to freely move about without any interference from the rod and reel and further the invention is completely hands-free in function.

Abstract: A simulated fowl swimming apparatus includes a pump conduit, a pump disposed in fluid communication with the pump conduit, a decoy motion assembly disposed in fluid communication with and rotatable with respect to the pump conduit, at least one discharge opening in the decoy motion assembly and at least one water fowl decoy carried by the decoy motion assembly.

Abstract: An equine tongue tie has a small elastic tongue loop 14 and a large elastic jaw loop 12. The two loops 12, 14 are stitched or otherwise joined at a location 18 across the width of the loops. The two loops 12, 14 can be made from a single strap 2 of elastomeric material wherein the ends are preferably folded over prior to stitching or otherwise affixing so as to form four layers of the elastomeric material at the location 18 wherein the tongue loop 14 and jaw loop 12 are joined. Alternatively, each loop can be made from a separate strap, each tongue loop 14 and jaw loop 12 having its ends overlapped and sewn together to form a separate loop and these two separate loops 12, 14 being sewn together where the sewn ends overlap creating four layers of material at the location 18 where the loops are joined.

Abstract: A wedge apparatus for a stirrup for reducing alleviating pain on a horseback rider's knees and ankles, the stirrup comprising a pair of opposing side bars, a hangar bar portion and a footrest bar, the wedge apparatus comprising (a) a wedge associated with the footrest bar, the wedge having a lateral portion and a medial portion, the lateral portion being thicker than and tapering toward the medial portion; (b) an impact-absorbing material; and, (c) an attachment mechanism for attaching the wedge and the impact-absorbing material to the footrest bar.

Abstract: A cubicle (10) for an animal, a system for an arrangement within the cubicle and a method for mounting said arrangement. The cubicle (10) has an open side (12) though which the animal enters the cubicle (10) and an opposite end for the animal's head. The cubicle (10) includes a brisket board (13) for positioning the animal in the right position within the cubicle (10) and a mattress (16) placed on a cubicle floor (14) for the animal to rest on. One side of the mattress (16), and one side of the brisket board (13) are secured to the cubical floor (14) by an elongated profile (25) securing both the mattress (16) and the brisket board (13) to the floor (14).

Abstract: A dispenser for a toy and treats and a method for using the dispenser are disclosed. The dispenser contains an enclosure having a funnel at the top, an opening at the bottom of one of the enclosure walls, a treat dispenser containing treats having at least one hole from which the treats can exit, a ramp that directs the toy and treats to exit the enclosure and a support for the funnel and treat dispenser. The pet is encouraged to drop the toy into the enclosure through the funnel. The toy bounces off the treat dispenser causing it to release treats through the hole at the bottom of the dispenser. The toy and the treats roll out the opening encouraging the pet to further interact with the dispenser for fun and exercise.

Abstract: A radially adjustable horse grazing muzzle includes a muzzle body made of a flexible material and having an open end for allowing a horse snout to be placed in the muzzle body therethrough, and an adjustment assembly configured as a segment of a periphery of the open end of the muzzle body and having a pad and at least one adjustable fastener composed a first member and a second member, wherein the first member is fixed to the pad while the second member is fixed to an adjacent segment of the periphery of the open end of the muzzle body, the first and second members being configured to combine with an adjustable overall length thereof, whereby when the overall length of the combined first member and second member is reduced, the muzzle body is centripetally converged, thereby achieving a radial adjustment of the muzzle.

Abstract: An automatic egg injection machine comprises a separate injector support grid and injector locking device. The injector locking device is attached to the body of the egg injection machine to prevent motion during the vaccination process. Individual air tubes are inserted into slots in the injector locking device, and are inflated with compressed air to lock the injectors in place during the injection process, thereby minimizing the possibility of injector movement. Both the injector support grid and injector locking device can be exchanged for other components with different egg configurations so that one egg injection machine can be used for more than one sized incubator egg flat.

Abstract: A rodent trap comprises a stiff U-shaped spring with long outstretched arms and wire half-noose that are normally closed tightly together. A folding spreader mechanism at the base of the U-shaped spring holds the long outstretched arms apart until a trigger allows the spreader to fold up. The folding spreader mechanism is prevented from extending over-center and locking like a knee joint as near the point of going over-center, a tiny force like a trigger keeps the folding spreader mechanism extended even against strong spring pressures.

Abstract: Embodiments of this invention include orthotic devices for treating hoof ailments, including laminitis and founder, and methods of treating the hoof ailments using an orthotic. In one embodiment, the hoof orthotic includes a platform having a heel end, a toe end, an inside and an outside edge, the heel end comprising a center section of the platform. The toe end includes a first tip and a second tip having a space therebetween such that the toe end is not enclosed. The platform includes an upper hoof contact surface and a lower surface, the upper surface being elevated at the heel end of the platform and sloping such that the heel end has a greater vertical height than the toe end. The orthotic also includes attachment means that extend vertically from the platform for attaching the orthotic to the animal hoof. The orthotic can be made from a resilient and/or elastomeric material that may also provide cushioning and fitting advantages.

Abstract: An equine mask and sun visor combination that protects the face and eyes of the horse against several environmental insults simultaneously, including insects, water-born particulates and direct sunlight. A second layer of UV-opaque material is added to a first UV-retarding screen layer to form a sun visor disposed to protect the horse's eyes from direct sunlight and precipitation without blocking the horse's vision. The two distinct mask layers are joined in a manner that forms a single equine mask assembly which neither irritates nor discomforts the horse during long-term continuous wear.
