Abstract: An interface gateway interfaces between a first device and a second device serving a hospitality establishment. The first device is one of a property management system (PMS) and a guest service device, and the second device is the other of the property management system (PMS) and the guest service device. One or more communication ports perform data communications with the first device and the second device. One or more processors receive a message from the first device, determine that the message is in a first format, convert the message from the first format to an internal data structure, parse the message in the internal data structure to determine that the message is applicable to the second device, determine that the second device supports a second format, convert the message from the internal data structure to the second format, and send the message in the second format to the second device.

Abstract: A people counting system and method for the automatic reconfiguration of a failed people counting sensor device in a people counting system. The system includes a plurality of addressable people counting sensor devices defining a cluster having a master device in communication with at least one slave device, each of the master device and the slave devices having a corresponding Media Access Control (“MAC”) address. Abstract: A system and method can support user account management in a computing environment. A managing server, such as a privileged account manager server, can use an agent to manage a target system in the computing environment. The agent on the target system can initiate a video processing task based on a plurality of user session screens recorded on the target system, wherein the video processing task encodes the plurality of user session screens into a video. Furthermore, the agent can determine whether a resource usage for performing the video processing task on the target system exceeds a threshold. Then, the agent can dynamically offload the video processing task to a managing server that operates to manage the target system, if the resource usage for performing the video processing task on the target system exceeds the threshold.
Abstract: A network flow abnormality detection system and method for detecting at least one network packet to determine whether a flow condition of the network packet is abnormal. The network packet includes L bit data element values. The method is fetching M data element values in above-mentioned L bit data element values by data element value fetch unit, wherein M is an odd number and larger than 1; N parallel processing units receive and process above-mentioned M data element values; comparison module compares above-mentioned M data element values and a standard threshold to generate M comparison result values; sum unit sums above-mentioned M comparison result values to obtain a comparison sum value; determination unit compares the comparison sum value and an abnormality threshold, wherein when the comparison sum value is larger than the abnormality threshold, the determination unit determines the flow condition is abnormal.
Abstract: A network control system for generating physical control plane data for managing first and second managed forwarding elements that implement forwarding operations associated with a first logical datapath set is described. The system includes a first controller instance for converting logical control plane data for the first logical datapath set to universal physical control plane (UPCP) data. The system further includes a second controller instance for converting UPCP data to customized physical control plane (CPCP) data for the first managed forwarding element but not the second managed forwarding element.
Abstract: A method and a filter system for filtering messages which are received, via a serial data bus of a communications network, in a communication module of a user connected to the data bus. To allow particularly simple and efficient filtering of incoming messages, even when there is a large number of filtering criteria, it is proposed that the filter system includes a list in which multiple identifier pairs are stored which define a range delimited in each case by a first identifier and a second identifier. The identifier for an incoming message is compared at least to selected identifier pairs from the list, and a query is made concerning whether the identifier for the incoming message is greater than, or greater than or equal to, the selected first identifier, and is less than, or less than or equal to, the selected second identifier.

Abstract: Mobile wireless devices may receive data streams from multiple remote sensors. The sensors may have limited power supplies and memory capacity. Aspects of the invention use statistical characteristics of the sensor data streams and the cost of acquiring a single element of each stream to determine what sequence the sensors should send their data streams in. The cost of acquiring the data may be modified dynamically, depending on parameters such as block size. Additional factors, such as a sensor's buffer capacity, may limit the amount of stream elements that may be cached and affect the sensors' stream transmit sequence. The evaluation order may be dynamically modified using an event processing engine, to reflect both changing statistics of underlying sensor stream tuples and time-varying acquisition costs associated with individual streams. This helps to increase in the operational lifetime of the sensors and associated monitoring applications.

Abstract: A client device can implement a client-side application for a server-side online content management system. The client-side application can communicate with the server-side online content management system to sync data stored locally on the client-side with data stored on the server-side. A local web server can be implemented on the client device to work in conjunction with the client-side application, such that the local web server can access the data stored locally. The client device can run a web browser that communicates with the local web server. A user of the client device can use the web browser to connect to the local web server to access the synced data stored locally on the client-side. Advantages of accessing the data stored locally using the web browser via the local web server include performance improvements, offline access to the data, and use of native client applications to interact with the data.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method determines data describing a temporal variability of a bit rate of a first bitstream and receives the first bitstream through a communication channel. A throughput for the communication channel is determined. The method then compares the throughput of the communication channel with the data describing the temporal variability of the bit rate of the first bitstream to determine a variance of the first bitstream from the throughput for the communication channel for a portion of the media program not already received. An amount of data currently buffered in a buffer for the media program is determined and then the method compares the amount of data currently buffered to the variance for the portion to determine whether to switch to receiving a second bitstream. The second bitstream has a different bit rate from the first bitstream.
