  • Patent number: 7926670
Abstract: A truck mounted telescopic boom structure including a stowable jib boom having a stowable personnel basket mounted thereon is described. A mounting structure is provided at the outer end of the innermost boom section of the boom structure and includes means for pivotally moving a work platform or basket between operative and stowed positions. When the boom structure and the jib boom are in their stowed positions, the personnel basket is positioned closely adjacent the jib boom at one side thereof so as to be within the highway width restrictions. The instant invention enables the personnel basket to be connected to the outer end of the jib boom at all times without the necessity of removing the personnel basket from the jib boom when the jib boom and the boom structure are in their stowed positions.

  • Patent number: 7921970
Abstract: A sealing device for an elevator door includes a doorway member, doors, a movable member, a push-down mechanism and a sealing mechanism. The doorway member is provided for a gate. The doors open or close along the doorway member. The movable member is set horizontally and provided to be movable in a vertical direction in the doorway member, and it is urged upwards by an urging unit. The push-down mechanism pushes down the movable member against the force of the urging unit just before the doors are closed. The sealing mechanism is kept non-contact with the doors while they are moving, and seals the gap between the doors and the doorway member as it is brought into contact with upper section of the doors when the movable member is pushed down by the push-down mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7905332
Abstract: A method of controlling noise noticeable within an elevator car (22) includes intentionally introducing noise into the elevator car (22) at a noise level that depends on the position of the car within a hoistway (24). A disclosed example includes using existing elevator system components for generating compensating noise at different levels corresponding to different positions of the car within the hoistway. One disclosed example includes increasing introduced noise as the car descends further away from a machine responsible for moving the car. The introduced noise reduces or eliminates changes in noticeable noise within the elevator car as the car moves relative to the machine. The disclosed examples have particular usefulness in machine roomless elevator systems although they are not necessarily limited to such systems.

  • Patent number: 7896606
Abstract: A crane mounting system to be used for mounting a crane onto a truck frame utilizes at least two shear plates with an L-shape profile. One part of each shear plate is interposed between a respective frame rail of the truck chassis and a respective end of a transverse mounting bar, while the orthogonal part of each shear plate is welded, at least partially, to the outer side of the respective frame rail. Interior holes on the transverse bars are threaded to accept inner tie down bolts while outer holes are drilled through to accept tie down studs. The shear plate acts as a wear plate/surface as the crane base sits on the transverse bars that in turn nests on the bent plate rather than directly on the chassis frame rail.

  • Patent number: 7878347
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a lifting assembly such as a jib crane or similar apparatus having an articulated arm assembly and a flexible means for connecting a load to an actuator. The lift arm assembly forms an articulated cantilever boom, which is extensible so as to traverse a suspended load within a work cell area. The lift arm assembly further includes a first and second member pivotally connected to one another whereby an inclined plane (e.g., a cam) at the pivot point of the articulating arms provides a vertical displacement of the secondary arms thereby moving the distal end of the secondary arm to counterbalance inherent forces acting thereon.
