  • Patent number: 7686174
Abstract: The within invention concerns a vehicle crane with a telescopic boom that can move on a horizontal axle and rotate on an upright axle with a pivot section, telescoping sections that can telescope out of the pivot section, and also with two anchor supports flexibly housed on one of the sections so that they can pivot out of transportation position, in which they are folded essentially parallel to each other against the section, and can be spread apart into an erect, particularly V-shaped, operation position. The invention also concerns a process for assembling or dissembling said anchor supports of the telescoping boom of the vehicle crane. According to the invention, when the boom is lying in essentially horizontal position, the anchor supports can be disassembled, are positioned on brackets provided next to the boom, and after the boom is raised are raised from the brackets and loaded by the boom itself.

  • Patent number: 7681747
Abstract: A crane to be fitted in a window opening or the like, between two opposing surfaces, has a strut (14) which is first braced between the surfaces (20a, 20b), and a boom (13) which extends away from the strut. A winch (5) on the crane winds up a lifting cafe (12) which runs over a pulley (3) at the outer end of the boom (13). The top and bottom ends of the strut have end plates (15, 7) which are designed to hold the crane rigidly between the two surfaces, but without damaging any surface finish on either surface. The boom (13) can be swung about the axis of the strut (14) to bring the load carried by the crane in towards the position of the operator.

  • Patent number: 7681691
Abstract: An apparatus for lifting planar objects which includes an extendable rectilinear elongated frame formed of at least two spaced U-beams, each U-beam defining a longitudinal runway and having an elongated area removed from a forward face below a midpoint of the frame. The removed elongated area defines an entranceway to the longitudinal runway. The entranceway is dimensioned to receive the planar object for placement on a transport carriage while maintaining a top portion of the planar object within the longitudinal runway. The carriage is configured to laterally span the two spaced U-beams such that a portion of the carriage and a portion of the planar object are confined within each interior longitudinal runway at least during transport. A skid is perpendicularly joined to a forward face of the carriage at about its bottom edge. The skid is configured to support the planar object during placement and lifting.

  • Patent number: 7677401
Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling a crane which comprises a boom that may be raised or lowered by angular adjustment of the boom about a base portion of the crane. The method prevents operation of the crane in an undesired condition by continuously monitoring operation of the crane, including monitoring at least the position of the boom with respect to the base of the crane. If the crane approaches a limit of its operating range or any operational parameter, its operation will be controlled so as to selectively prohibit or permit a boom raising operation of the crane, depending on the cause of the condition, rather than uniformly prohibit such an operation.

  • Patent number: 7624883
Abstract: The present invention utilizes a hoist drum with a three different drum sections, two cylindrical and one tapered, upon which the different ends of a lifting cable simultaneously spool on and off of as a function of counterclockwise and clockwise cable spooling. This combination reduces the amount of shaft torque required to raise or lower a load while increasing the number of hoist drum rotations required to raise or lower that load. These two features are incorporated into the operation of a main crane cable length adjusting device since they offer precise and rapid adjustment capabilities to be made with smaller sized electric motors and clutches.
