    Abstract: In the preferred and illustrated embodiment, a protective anti-theft device for installation on a fireplug is shown. In the preferred and illustrated embodiment, a nut suitable for installation on a fireplug is provided, the nut having an external groove to receive a snap ring therein. A sleeve is joined to the nut by means of a cooperative groove receiving the snap ring therein. This enables the sleeve to free wheel around the nut. The free wheeling sleeve prevents theft and pilferage of the nut once it is installed on a fireplug at the top end to support the stem in the fireplug.

    Abstract: A dowel assembly to be anchored in a borehole in a receiving material includes a container positioned around the axis of the borehole and located between an abutment at one end of the dowel assembly and the receiving material into which the assembly is inserted. The container is formed of two parts with one part being telescopically displaceable into the other. An hydraulic mass capable of expanding when mixed with a reaction liquid is filled into the container. The expandable hydraulic mass maintains the force acting on the dowel assembly when there is relaxation of the force originally generated between the dowel assembly and the receiving material. The container has openings through which the reaction liquid can pass into contact with the hydraulic mass. The hydraulic mass can be activated by immersing the container in water.

The fastener differs from conventional blind fasteners in that the spindle has a cold work mandrel portion between the pull stem and shear pin portions thereof.     Abstract: An expansion anchor assembly for use in a bore with an undercut section adjacent the base of the bore, includes an axially elongated expansion sleeve and an anchor bolt positioned within the sleeve with an expansion cone at one end of the bolt. The expansion sleeve is slit from one end for a portion of its axial length. By drawing the expansion cone into the slit end of the sleeve, the sleeve can be expanded. An expansion element is seated within a recess in the outside surface of the sleeve. The base of the recess has a decreasing depth in the direction toward the slit end of the sleeve. The expansion element secures the expansion anchor assembly within the bore.

    Abstract: The lock housing has a slot in a top wall via which a coded card key can be inserted to bring into alignment coded magnetic areas on the card with magnetically responsive elements of the lock to unlock the locking mechanism and enable rotation of either a knob or lever arm to open the door. The card moves a spring actuator against a coupling spline to engage it with a spindle spline carried by a shaft interconnected with the knob or lever arm handle. The sliding coupling spline is integral with parts which interrelate with the door lock mechanism such that rotation of the knob or lever arm will now effect release of the door locking mechanism. When the card is fully inserted, the mechanism is maintained in the unlocked condition and the card may be released to turn the knob or handle with the same hand. Spring-loaded members separate the coupling and spindle splines as the magnetic card key is withdrawn from the housing slot.

A detent arrangement engages the cover plate at a first point to hold it in its opened position until a key is inserted into the key opening and rotated towards an unlatching position, whereupon the detent arrangement engages the cover plate at a second point and prevents movement of the cover plate into its closed position. The cover plate is released when the key is withdrawn from the lock such that the cover plate is free to move into its closed position.
