  • Patent number: 4669288
Abstract: A lock assembly comprises a stator, a rotor pivoting in a bore in the stator and a plurality of stator piston/rotor piston pairings which are resiliently urged towards a key channel provided axially in the said rotor for receiving a coded key slidable in said channel and having flats each of which cooperates with one of the said pairings in order to displace the latter against the action of the said resilient means so that the generatrix of separation between each rotor piston and each stator piston of one pairing is at a tangent to the said rotor. The pairs of stator pistons and rotor pistons and their resilient restoring means are preassembled each in a radial bore in the stator. The radial bores are distributed angularly about the axis of the lock in at least one diametrical plane and are closed at their inner end by an abutment which is moved aside during insertion of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4669935
Abstract: An expansion dowel assembly is made up of an axially elongated generally cylindrically shaped dowel body and at least one wedge-shaped expansion member formed monolithically with the dowel body. The dowel body has a first or leading end which is inserted first into a borehole within which the dowel body is to be anchored and an opposite second end. A severable web connects the expansion member to the first end of the dowel body. Before insertion into a borehole, the expansion member projects outwardly from the exterior surface of the dowel body. When the expansion dowel assembly is inserted into a borehole, the web is broken and the expansion member, now separated from the dowel body, is displaced away from the first end within a wedge-shaped recess in the exterior surface of the dowel body.

  • Patent number: 4665724
Abstract: A wire lock comprising a take-up unit which encloses therein a locking wire so that the wire can be drawn out against the biasing force of a spring and rewound by the same force. A locking member is connected to a projecting end of the wire. The locking member can be brought into engagement for locking can be disengaged for unlocking only by a preset unlocking means. A movement preventing means prevents the movement of the wire at least in the drawing-out direction of the wire. The movement preventing means is attached to the take-up unit so that the inhibition of the wire movement can be released manually. With this construction, a locked object suspended from the wire lock can be carried while holding the wire lock by hand.

  • Patent number: 4662195
Abstract: A wall mounted soap dispenser made of plastic is described. The dispenser includes a hand-operated pump which dispenses liquid soap under pressure and which can be manufactured inexpensively. A disposable container of liquid soap is inserted in the dispenser to refill the dispenser. The pump has on its top a pan to collect liquid spilled as the disposable container is inserted. The pump and container are enclosed in a plastic housing which hinges from a plastic wall plate. A plastic latch with plastic key is used to lock the housing to the wall mounting plate. The pump mechanism uses a piston of two sections of different diameter and corresponding piston chamber of two sections of different diameter. There is an adjustable piston stroke length limiting mechanism. The piston is attached to the lever which moves the piston by means of a crossbar on the end of the piston rod. The crossbar is inserted in a slot in the lever and then turned to cross the slot.

  • Patent number: 4658610
Abstract: A cylinder lock comprises a cylinder core movable axially by the key and with at least one lock part in particular a lock bolt, which can be actuated by the cylinder core and which is movable via a transmission part by an eccentric member, cam or cam plate actuable by the cylinder core into the non-locking position. The lock part (8, 9) is held in the non-locking position by a tiltable dished plate (20) adapted for movement towards the cylinder core (1) axially against the pressure of spring (22) and disposed coaxially of the cylinder axis, until withdrawal of the key causes the cylinder core (1) to be moved back into the starting position, the plate (20) being withdrawn from the position which locks the transmission part (14). On the side remote from the cylinder core (1), the plate (20) has an inclined face (20b) along which moves a cam follower (18) attached to the transmission part (14), in order to move the plate (20) towards the cylinder core (1) against spring pressure.

  • Patent number: 4657460
Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements in a self-bonding fastener and to a novel method of curing the bonding material during assembly line fabrication of sheet metal products. The fastener includes a headed self-threading screw member having its head undersurface formed with an annular axially extending lip. An upper portion of the screw thread is precoated with a thermo-setting adhesive which, when heated, will uniformly bond the fastener to a sheet metal plate. As the fastener is threaded through an undersized hole in a sheet metal member, such as an automobile body, the adhesive reliquifies and is stripped from the screw thread. The adhesive is then re-deposited uniformly to completely fill a closed chamber defined between the head undersurface and the opposed sheet metal surface sealed on its periphery by the annular lip which defines the axial dimension of the adhesive thickness.

  • Patent number: 4657458
Abstract: A one-piece molded plastic reusable internally threaded anchor nut removably insertable in a mounting hole in a workpiece and adapted to receive a screw comprises two sections which are joined together by an integrally formed web or hinge. When the sections are folded together, they define an internally threaded screw-receiving passage and an external releasable locking mechanism for securing the anchor nut in the mounting hole. In one embodiment the portions defining the screw-receiving passage are bifurcated and expand outwardly as the screw is inserted so as to cause the external locking mechanism (i.e., in the form of slots on the exterior of the bifurcations) to engage the edge of the mounting hole in which the nut was previously inserted. In other embodiments, the external locking mechanism (i.e.

  • Patent number: 4657457
Abstract: A locking device for securing at least two screw-action connectors comprises a locking clip or element made from a good quality spring steel wire having a round or square section. The locking clip or element has a diagonal interconnecting part which extends tangentially between a pair of locking elements one at each end of the part. The locking elements (for example, coils) are wrapped round or placed over a portion of a wheel nut. The interference/friction fit between the wheel nut and the clip or element prevents axial movement of the clip relative to the nut. The part serves as restraining means positively linking tangentially adjacent wheel nuts and thereby prevents relative rotation thereof.
