Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a duplex automatic document feeding (DADF) function, and a control method thereof includes a DADF unit to feed a document along a duplex path, an image scanning unit to scan the document and output scan data, a storage unit to temporarily store the output scan data, and a controller to control the DADF unit to re-scan a first side of the document using the duplex path, if a full memory error occurs while the first side of the document is scanned.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for outputting a locked print job by a printing device connected to a client device over a network. The method includes transmitting, by the client device, a request to print the locked print job, which includes print data that is prohibited from being printed until authentication information is entered into the printing device. The printing device receives the request to print the locked print job. The locked print job and the authentication information are stored in a memory. A job ticket that provides the client device access to manage the locked print job stored in the memory is generated. The job ticket is transmitted to, and received by, the client device. The locked print job is output when the authentication information is entered into the printing device or the locked print job is remotely released by the client device using the job ticket.

A test image forming unit controls the image forming unit to form a test image based on test image data. A measuring unit measures density of the test image. A color density correction data creating unit creates the color density correction data based on the measured density. A color order setting unit sets a color order. A performing unit performs a process to create color density correction data for the plurality of colors in the color order by controlling the test image forming unit, the measuring unit, and the color density correction data creating unit. A print image data acquiring unit acquires print image data while the performing unit is performing a color density correction data creating process for a current color.

Abstract: A method for applying gamut mapping to an input digital image having an associated input color gamut, to produce an output digital image having an associated output color gamut, which includes: defining a gamut mapping color transform which embodies the operations of transforming input color values from the input color space to linear RGB color values for a linear RGB color space, wherein the linear RGB color space has desirable hue preserving characteristics; transforming the linear RGB color values to determine nonlinear RGB color values; applying a 3×3 matrix transformation to the nonlinear RGB values to an opponent color space; applying a gamut mapping function to map opponent color values within the input color gamut to produce modified opponent color values within the output color gamut; and transforming the modified opponent color values to produce the output color values in the output color space.

Abstract: A system and method for routing and processing jobs in a production environment considers the setup characteristics of each print job. Each set of jobs may be classified as a first job processing speed set, a second job processing speed set, or another job processing speed set based on the corresponding setup characteristics. First job processing speed sets are routed to a first group of job processing resources, while second job processing speed sets are routed to a second group of job processing speed resources. Each resource group may include an autonomous cell.

Based on a result of detection provided by a document detecting section (3) for detecting the presence or absence of a document, it is determined whether or not an e-mail is transmitted with use of an attachment file by an e-mail transmitting section (7). Abstract: Print data is input from a computer, and a main translator of an image processing apparatus analyzes the print data, and performs an output data process. In addition, a sub-translator analyzes the print data, performs an external reference data obtaining process through a network, holds the obtained external reference data in a storage device, and manages the data in a resource management table. When the main translator requires the external reference data, it performs the output data process using the external reference data managed in the resource management table. Thus, the output data process and the external resource pre-reading process are simultaneously performed, thereby improving the throughput of the entire system.

Abstract: This invention allows a user to immediately grasp the print status of a job only by inputting a print instruction of a job stored and held in an image forming apparatus. This invention also provides a user-friendly apparatus that notifies the user of a predicted time until completion of printing. A list of jobs registered in a Hold job list is displayed on the display screen.
