  • Patent number: 9466262
Abstract: A method is provided to control a display screen of an electronic apparatus having an accelerometer and a light sensor. The accelerometer acquires a z-axis value and the z-axis value is compared to a first threshold value. The light sensor acquires a brightness value and the brightness value is compared to a second threshold value if the z-axis value is less than the first threshold value. When the z-axis value is less than the first threshold value and the brightness value is less than the second threshold value, the display screen is turned off. In addition, it is to automatically turn on or turn off the display screen by judging detection values of the accelerometer and the light sensor, thereby increasing convenience of operating the electronic apparatus. Further, the detection values are judged to overcome the misjudgement problem of the electronic apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9462515
Abstract: In a Long Term Evolution (LTE) environment, the LTE network can coordinate with a subscribing user equipment to manage offloading to a wireless local area network (WLAN) access point or other base station. In doing so, the serving base station on the LTE network can acquire device capabilities of the user equipment and provide configuration details to the user equipment based on those capabilities. These configuration details may cause the user equipment to monitor one or more triggers, and may configure a scan to be later performed by the user equipment. Based on the monitored trigger, the user equipment can then scan the environment according to the scan configuration defined by the base station, and relay scan results to the base station to make a handover determination.

  • Patent number: 9439026
Abstract: Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication has been described for communication in a single network in among others publications from the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). The publications describe a single network with defined entities, a resource structure and protocols. According to the invention, a solution is described for communication between entities residing in different M2M networks. Entities residing in a first M2M network requiring information of an entity in another second M2M network submit a request with a target ID pointing to the entity in the second M2M network. The request is forwarded to the network node of the first network. The network node of the first network checks whether the target ID matches with an announced resource in the network node of the first network. On a match the request is routed towards the network node of the second M2M network according to an address available in a REstful structure comprising the announced resource.

  • Patent number: 9432846
Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of returning from the power saving state and performing user authentication by one action of holding an authentication card over a card reader even when the apparatus is in the power saving state. The apparatus performs short-distance wireless communication with an external device. A controller performs control processing including at least authentication processing. When short-distance wireless communication with the device is started, a short-distance wireless communication section delivers a return-starting interrupt, to the controller, receives authentication data from the device to thereby store the authentication data during returning of the apparatus. The controller performs authentication processing based on the stored authentication data after returning of the apparatus from the power saving state, and notifies the device of an authentication processing result by a different channel.

  • Patent number: 9430865
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a real-time dynamic non-planar projection apparatus and method, which can reduce visual errors, such as distortion of a screen image or deviation from a border area, upon projecting screen images from a projector onto the surface of a non-planar object that is moved in real time. The presented real-time dynamic non-planar projection apparatus includes a preprocessing unit for preprocessing data related to a static part of a screen image to be projected onto a non-planar surface. A real-time projection unit classifies non-planar objects in the screen image to be projected onto the non-planar surface into a rigid body and a non-rigid body using data output from the preprocessing unit, respectively renders the rigid body and the non-rigid body depending on a viewer's current viewpoint, and projects rendered results onto the non-planar surface via projection mapping.

  • Patent number: 9420099
Abstract: Public safety access points (PSAP), such as 911 and e911 service providers, are often overwhelmed with information coming from a number of callers. As part of an initial assessment, a determination is often made as to whether two or more callers are calling about the same emergent event. If two or more callers are calling about the same emergent event, the callers and PSAP may interact at the same time via a data channel operable to convey one or more of text, voice, video, still images, video images, location information, and social media content. As a benefit, PSAP resource may obtain a more complete knowledge of the emergent situation and better coordinate mitigation activities for the emergent event.
