  • Patent number: 8023243
Abstract: The switching valve of a quick-operating slider system is an electrically operated stop valve. In the case of a required rapid shutoff, the coil (19) must be de-energized in a very short period of time in order to allow the switching valve (18) to open. For this purpose, a voltage-dependent resistor (33) is provided between the voltage source (25) and the coil (19), said resistor (33) having a high resistance below a switching voltage (Us), but a negligibly small resistance above the switching voltage. An auxiliary voltage source (35) is connected in parallel to the coil (19), the voltage of said auxiliary voltage source (35) being opposite to that of the voltage source (25). In this manner, the switching valve is rapidly opened both when a corresponding signal is received and in the case of power failure.

  • Patent number: 8009396
Abstract: A technique that minimizes false triggering of an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuit is disclosed. In an embodiment, the resistor-capacitor (RC) time constant of an ESD trigger element is reduced during normal operation minimizing the risk of false triggering. Circuit layout area is saved without the need of a timeout circuit associated with releasing a device maintaining a trigger state (i.e., a trigger latch). A RC time constant for triggering is set in an operational context according to conditions of usage and desired application of the ESD protection circuit.

  • Patent number: 7995324
Abstract: An object is providing an electrostatic attraction apparatus and an attracting/releasing method capable of reliably attracting and quickly releasing a glass substrate. An attraction force for attracting a glass substrate is obtained according to the physical properties of the glass substrate. In addition to obtaining an attraction voltage (Vc(t)) required for obtaining the attraction force, a holding voltage (Vh(t)) for holding an attraction state and a release voltage (Vr(t)) for releasing the glass substrate are also obtained (S1 to S7). Attraction time period (tc) is actually measured and if this measured time is different from a preset attraction time (t1), the holding voltage (Vh(t)) and the release voltage (Vr(t)) are recalculated according to the actually measured attraction time period (tc) (S8 to S11).
